I just installed an Aussie locker in my front D44 and I am wondering what gap I should expect to have in between the cam gears after completely installed. The instructions for the most part do not specify thousands of an inch or mm in all the diagrams except for one sentence which states mm. I know this doesn't make since but if I were to go by .145" - .170" everything is perfect. But if I go by mm the gap I have now would be over twice that which is called for. .145mm is just barely thicker than a piece of paper. Which would not allow the teeth to disengage. Even with thicker thrust washers I would not be able to obtain the proper gap and still be able to install the pinion shaft. This is what leads me to think this is a typo on their part. My gap is just over .140" which is about the same as 2 quarters thickness. This seems right to me. And as far as I can tell in other locker install pics I am OK. I have e-mailed torq masters last saturday but have yet to recieve a reply from them. Just looking to see what everybody else got with the Aussie or any other lunchbox locker. I will try to get pics up here in a few minutes to show what I ended up with.
