Cheesy frames! I have an upcoming repair to my frame. But I don't have the skills to build a whole new frame like you did once upon a time.
You better buy an azrocks t-shirt :flipoff4:
I'm trying for az rocks! I am pretty sure I'll make it...
goin leafs or links?

Hmmm...possibly a new niche industry here jaco, building new front ends for tacos with thin as shitty frames!!!! Seriously, I am watching how this is going to play out. its always disturbing how much the frame flexes.
16" 2.5 King Coilovers, maybe 14's...
I may just tube my front end- this isn't going to be a good example for tacoma's because my cage makes the frame so rigid. I have a really good suspension idea but it requires full hydro which isn't really in the budget. I also already have a FJ60 steering box... I'm so slammed with work it may be a bit before I can get back to this thing, I also just got the damn flu :(
I do have one toyota haflshaft with new toyota boots, a rack and a front diff with 4.30's if anyone is interested. Also the other stuff but I assume no one wants...

Here's some spy info I have gathered:
35" Sticky BFG KR tires
I believe 3-link front with 2.5"x16" King coilovers
113" WB
New tube setup on the front
Maybe some new rear links
Maybe I'll try to get spy pics soon. He's still missing a few parts, but you can be sure that once he has everything, it will only be a few days before it's done.:D
Sorry I don't have a lot of parts yet so it doesn't look like much... I'll post pics up by saturday at the latest, should be linked and on the ground if things go well :D
I also snagged an FJ60 steering box
The link setup is actually going to be an equal length 4 link + panhard...
This whole setup is somewhat temporary, but I'll probably run it for 2 years or so like this and then go big- otherwise I'll get bored of it and sell it (point and case tacominator)...
Like eric said, less posting more fabbing!

So did you finish it this morning. I mean, afterall, there was about 3-4 days of work to do as of last night, but hey, this is Jaco we're talking about here!
I finished the front tube work, I like how it turned out... I'm waiting for the coilovers to show up now- I'm guessing back on the ground tomorrow or sunday ;)

Yes sir, I live 1/4 mile from the shop- I love that thing! It's a 78 with the high/low range :D
cool - redid one of those for my mom quite a few years back, fun stuff. Hey the rig is looking realy good Jaco!

Bling bling Kings?????
Looking good Jaco, I'm liking the "stickies" Corr tire. Where did you get those?
Have you or anyone you know crawled with them yet? I want to know how they do.
I got them 4 of them from a TLC junk yard for $100 and 5 more for $300 on the VJC, they are on craigslist sometimes as well. I haven't wheeled them yet, but if they don't explode like my last tires they are already miles ahead!
There is a page 4 and 5 now...

Use 1.5" wide mis alignment spacers on your shocks. I will help with your leaning shock hitting mounts issue. Call King or hit up Jeff for these.
Do these replace the king misalignment spacers? I got it all down now, but that would have probably been easier and maybe better... What do you do about the aluminum of the shocks touching the mounting tabs, do you just space them out enough that it can't ever hit?

looks real good, cept the tie rod looks real close to teh diff cover when straight, have you cycled the steering to make sure it doesn't hit when turn to full lock?
That's actually the track bar that gets within an 1/8th of the diff cover ;) But yes the steering clears everything lock to lock at all heights and articulation...

Yes and instead of being 1.25" wide it's 1.5" wide and gives you more room to mount them and to clear around the spring cup.
It drives! Pretty wild, I'll post up some pics before too long... Hopefully going to test it tomorrow evening- one week too late
3am - you're a nut job!! congrats!!

Wow, kick ass. I'm truly impressed with it's performance- how rewarding! :D

Dan sucks - make sure you remind him of this.
Post some good pics when you can hand the camera to someone slightly competent.
Glad to see you got her done Jaco - need poser flex shot.

Nice work Jaco! Get that bitch out here and lets go play!
Haha, poor little dan and his silly exploding cherocar :lmao:
As far as playing goes, the rear is still entirely stock and has a few issues... I probably won't be doing any hardcore trails for quite some time. I'm going to glamis in a week though, I think it will shine there and on the medium trails- exactly what I built it for

Jaco, how do you like those tires and what made you decide to run them? Just curious.
Also, don't know if I blew by it or on the webpages, but do you have guess or actual number on weight?
Buggy looks great.

Thanks Mike, figured I'd get some time on the tires before answering...
The tires hook up OK, not amazing or anything- seem very durable w the 4 ply sidewals... I'd say for a medium duty trail rig like mine, best bang for the buck, but for hardcore crawling not too great. They don't have any sidewall tread and they measure small for a 35... I decided to run them because they fit the FJ cruiser rims which worked out great with my adapters in the front. Also I got 9 of these tires with a lot of tread for $400 total. I have $600 in all 9 tires and 5 wheels ;)
As far as the weight I think I'm right about 2600-3000 range, it weighed 2650 before the swap with my skinny ass in it and I honestly think I shaved weight even with the bigger tires.
