That's a 2UZ from a sequoia/tundra in a 94 Land cruizer. replacing the old reliable straight 6.
YOU SUCK. If I'd had the money when I bought my 4 Runner we'd be doing this to MY L.C.

Sweet. I love the FJ80 and love the new V8. Solid axles and solid motor.
TRD had a 4Runner/Tundra 4.7L V8 transplant into an FJ a while back, but I never heard about its completion.
So you are making progress. Cant wait to see it when it is complete.

Finally recived most of the parts needed. CUt the OEM mounts off the frame today, went to Slee to get another driver side (the passenger sideis too big to work with). Tacked them into position. Will fully weld them tomorrow.
Looks like the t-case crossmember will be a issue. Not sure what to do with that yet. Some sort of belly pan?

Is this YOUR rig or a job you are doin'?

Mine, a dealer would never do a engine swap. Too many legal issues.

Have you thought about a FROR style cross member? their off-the-shelf product might not work out (dont' know anything about the fj series), but the concept shouldn't be too hard to put into practice.

Molly I don't care who's job this is it is hot!!!! Brian let me know if you need any help.

The problem with him "letting" us help is that the dealership will get suspicious about who is under his junk with him and how much work is getting done by those questionable people (I think it has something to do with non-employee in the shop liability). I don't blame him for working on it at work though, he has all the tools needed, except a sledge hammer. :D
Brian: What about a 1" body lift? I know they aren't the safest things out there but it might be a solution to the transfer case hump, exhaust, and the hood clearance. Just a thought. I know it wouldn't completely eliminate the transfer case clearance issues but it would lessen the amount of BFH adjustment.

Yea, I kinda like that idea. Does anyone even make a body lift for those?
I bet 4crawler could make you one.

i bet that if you specify the dimensions and quantity, roger would be more than happy to spin up the lathe.

Looks like he even has a listing. I'll call him tomorrow and get a set ordered up. The cool thing is the fuel tank is hooked to the body so i don't have to mess with that.

Soon, I need to come up with more money (like everyone else). I need to sell the wifes 4runner, it will be ready to go on the market here in a week or so. I need to put a tranny in it to sell it.
