I dont know why but lately people really seem to irratate me. :soapbox:
It drives me crazy when people on forums use the terms 315 and 35" interchangebly. a 315 tire is NOT a 35 inch tire. In fact I can get a 315 tire thats only 28 inches tall. GRRR. 315 mean 315 millimeters wide. It has NOTHING TO DO with the height of the tire. you need both the width (the 315) and the ASPECT ratio. that would be the second number. And you need the rim size to figure out the height. For whatever reason this just pushes my buttons. It makes me what to go out and tell everyone im running a 315 on my corvette and see what they say....
sorry for the rant. I just saw another thread with what do you think of 315s on my landcruiser and i keep thinking 315 whats? 315/40/16... why would you run a 26" tall tire?
:banghead:
