Some of us went on a rush to get mud flaps for last year's TakeOver and made sure we were "mostly" legal (ie, legal enough to not draw attention, or make an effort like Mike's stock mudflaps).

Yeah, I'll be getting mudflaps for when I do my tube bed. From what I've heard, PA and VA can be really strict when they wanna be.

What a crock! That is entrapment, there is no if and buts about it.

VA needs to be big on bumper height. PA needs to be a pain in the ass on everything. Such as your tires can't stick out past the fenders. That means my truck is not legal in PA. In VA your tires can stick out 3 inches.

That whole senerio was blown out of proportion by peolpe not following the parks rules. Someone got hurt in the park and instead of contacting the park, like you are told to do, they called 911 which sent the cops along with the ambulance. They were not there to ticket fourwheelers. Someone who was leaving threw a rock with their tire and it hit a police cruiser, which set the cop off. Since one cop got pissed they decided to be dicks.

This was a freak occurance of events and is not representative of the Paragon experience. I have yet to have an encounter with cops or here of anyone else that does. As for your trucks, as long as they are legal in your state, you are good to go. You are just frequenting PA, not living there or anything like that. We will have a lot of fun and I highly doubt that there will be any kind of trouble like this.

Yeah, same here. We drive from the park to the campground, back to the park, over to the gas station, and so on, dozens of times in the course of a weekend and I've NEVER seen the cops giving anyone a hard time up there. From what I gather, it was a one time thing.

Well my rig is registred in GA so I go by GA laws. I do see most of the guys in that thread where from PA. So Hopefully we will just have to watch out for the PA boys and keep them out of trouble.

If the cops were sitting there waiting on people to come out of the park so that they can pull them over knowing that most don't fit in the DOT guidelines for PA. That is in entrapment.

James: What the hell are you doing online in the middle of the day? If you are at home, You better be working on those doors!

Oppositeboy

That's not entrapment. Entrapment would be the cops telling the wheelers that they can run oversized tires, but then getting them for the tires being too wide or a bumper height violation due to the new ride height of the new tires.

Sitting there waiting is not entrapment.

ENTRAPMENT - A person is 'entrapped' when he is induced or persuaded by law enforcement officers or their agents to commit a crime that he had no previous intent to commit; and the law as a matter of policy forbids conviction in such a case.

However, there is no entrapment where a person is ready and willing to break the law and the Government agents merely provide what appears to be a favorable opportunity for the person to commit the crime. For example, it is not entrapment for a Government agent to pretend to be someone else and to offer, either directly or through an informer or other decoy, to engage in an unlawful transaction with the person. So, a person would not be a victim of entrapment if the person was ready, willing and able to commit the crime charged in the indictment whenever opportunity was afforded, and that Government officers or their agents did no more than offer an opportunity.

On the other hand, if the evidence leaves a reasonable doubt whether the person had any intent to commit the crime except for inducement or persuasion on the part of some Government officer or agent, then the person is not guilty.

In slightly different words: Even though someone may have [sold drugs], as charged by the government, if it was the result of entrapment then he is not guilty. Government agents entrapped him if three things occurred:

- First, the idea for committing the crime came from the government agents and not from the person accused of the crime.

- Second, the government agents then persuaded or talked the person into committing the crime. Simply giving him the opportunity to commit the crime is not the same as persuading him to commit the crime.

- And third, the person was not ready and willing to commit the crime before the government agents spoke with him.

And yeah, if we would have seen a cop, I'm sure he would have stopped us, even though we were hiding you guys in the convoy of legal trucks...

All the questionable trucks should hide in the convoy as suggested above. Could the PA cops give you a hard time even if your out of state?

They could give you a hassle, but I believe as long as you are compliant with your home states laws, you shouldn't have problems.

They can give you a ticket for it even if your out of state. If you do not fix your truck, they expect you not to drive in there state again.

Actually it was one exit before Rausch Creek, and it was some non PA Jeeps from my club, the Maryland Creepers.

NO tickets were issued, just verbal warnings for doors, and tires out past the fenders/flares.

Now Jeeps come with removeable doors and as such is legal in MD for them to go doorless. But MIRRORS ARE REQUIRED, and in PA too.

The PA cops trying to enforce PA laws on out of state vehicles is questionable.

Your right, it was RC. I remember seeing them take off the doors at the hotel then seeing them pulled over when we got on 81.

Man this has everyone freaked out. Basicly it comes down to dont drive like a idiot and use your head and you wont get pulled over. I've seen some really built rigs driven into the park and no probs.

FYI I've been wheeling every weekend for like a month straight and havent seen a cop yet at PAP or RC this year. Matter of fact I haven't seen one since last year by 309 and 81.

People are freaking out. There's a thread about this on every 4X4 BB out there. "I'm never going to Paragon again", and "Paragon should reimburse us for the fines" and other worthless drivel. It's dying down, but trust me, people WERE freaking out. People get worked up at the slightest problem

Wow... how many times do they have to hear someone say it was an isolated incident??

Person A: "I'm never going to PAP again, cuz they just sit inside/outside the park, waiting to ticket people!!"

Person B: "It was an isolated incident, dude."

Person D: "The police DO NOT sit around and wait to ticket people leaving the park!"

Sorry my mistake Broderick :D

Seriously though if you drive a jeep into PAP with no flares and 38s on beadlocked wheels and it looks like its been rolled 8 times. Dont bitch about a ticket. Most of the cops around there are pretty cool. They let alot of stuff slide. Heck Jamison drove his truggy to the EC4RJ last year. Wasnt pulled over or anything. If your junks illegal its a chance you take.
