Marlin's tack welding technique to dispence with the c-clip- is it worth it? Anyone have problems afterwards?

Why a triangulated 4 link?valkyrie said:Struggling to finish this month (?). After contemplating oil pan reworking/fabricating, we're at the last straw on the front end. If we cant get the triangulated 4 link to work given the height we're keeping, we'll probably need to rework it & use a trackbar. Belly pan is complete, everything else is looking good.
I was asking because if you did either a 3 or 4 link with a panhard bar you can eliminate almost all bump steer. Is your truck going to be driven on the street too? It also seems like a triangulated 4 link would be harder to fit and I am not sure if it will give you anymore benfit over a 3 or 4 link with panhard bar....valkyrie said:Why not?
Oh wait- I know- Because it's a PITA! Actually, I didn't figure that out until later...
A guy here who builds buggies has been trying to fabricate bracketry for different SAS kits (leafs, coils & coilovers) using my truck as the template. I let him practice, he takes care of the labor. He really wants to try & make it work, but we're about out of time...
Well, it certainly is harder to fit. Like I said here: http://www.tacomaterritory.com/forum/showpost.php?p=73348&postcount=15, it's his thing and hadn't tried on a taco. Should have an idea this weekend if it's gonna fly.ptrautne said:I was asking because if you did either a 3 or 4 link with a panhard bar you can eliminate almost all bump steer. As far as the steering bearings, was there any trick or did you use the SST?CronusTRD said:I've martacked my Formula Toy axles.
Easy, just measure and go at it.

Now where did I put MY real Toyota?
Thanks! Once I got it apart I saw how simple it was. I opted not to do it, probably regret it on the trail some day.CronusTRD said:I've martacked my Formula Toy axles.

Slow & steady is right! I think I'd like a V8 too...calamaridog said:It's ok, I like the V8.
