Has anyone seen or used one of these? ...if it works as advertised, it would be a really good piece of kit!

It only got 1 bad review out of 12 . . . Any intel from you guys?

Any particular reason for wanting to go cordless over a small gas saw or a 110v saw?

Makita makes good electric chainsaws, and a small used Stihl would be about the same price. I have a hard time believing anything made by B&D (especially consumer stuff) isn't pure junk- look what they did to Dewalt!

If you're wanting it to clear small stuff on the trail... I'd buy a cordless sawzall and a long wood blade before I'd buy that one.

i've had first hand experience with the ryobi 18v chainsaw. that little thing is surprising great! on the old batteries i was able to cut about 6-8 6" thick branches with no problems. with the new lithium batteries, it should double that. highly recommend it for a lightweight lightduty saw.

a small 12v saw would be tits, just run it off the truck battery and never run out of juice

That would be pretty badass... we had these awesome 24V DC impacts in a couple of our Humvee's in Iraq, they looked like a Sawzall body, mated to the front of a 1/2" impact gun... I found them online, freaking things were about $3000!

I haven't seen a 12V chainsaw, but you could always run a 120V saw off an inverter... the cord would be cheaper and more manageable than a long cord for a high-amp 12V one too. ;)
