heres some progress pics........A.J. got the front Marlin springs/shackles on and the axle on......it got way too hot at his shop.......if he had a thermometer it would probably be reading at least 110 inside the shop
The truck is going to be huge with the Marlin springs, the height that the front is at in the pic posted below is roughly going to be the heigth with the tires on when everything is finished

No not done yet. We're having alot of stuff laser cut, getting howe hydraulic assist steering, and computer stuff done so it's gonna take awhile. But once we get it done it should be a fairely easy swap for the next person. No changing the oil pan, frame is bigger and it seems the metal is thicker, and the steering shaft is pointed in the right direction.
Is yours done yet?

Well I was just thinking because I have 2.5" BS 15x10 rims, my outside of tire to outside of tire is 80". I wish I knew what Kirk's outside of tire to outside of tire was, they could be close. (For the WMS)64"-61.5" is 2.5"/2 per side is 1.25". Kirk is running 15x10 3 3/4" BS or close to it, 3.75"-2.5" is 1.25". I guess if you do the math, it equals out to our trucks having the same outside of tire to outside of tire. The world will never know!

he measured 82". We are figuring that the wider axled rigs will have to hit all the tree squeezes kind of sideways and thread their way through. It will get old after the first 20 or so, LOL.

nope I didnt add the chromos to that......add about a thousand for the chromos and u-joints........so about 3200 just for the axle so the total comes to one birrion dollars and thirty two cents :D
I had the axle regeared and the ARB installed at 4wd specialties in Concord.......they where very profesional.........cost me about 650 for the install with gears and the master install kit included in the price....I would recomend to order your own gears and master install kit before you take it in....you will probably save a hundred bucks or so!

Is that the old dude with the ZZ top beard on Arnold Industrial Way? If it is, he runs an awesome fab shop.

It's an older yota not a taco. In any case the yota and jeep parked in front of the shop are bad@$$. I want to say Allen(shop owner-ZZ top look a like) owns the truck but, I'm not sure.
I was there yesterday to have my carrier bolts broke loose. I took my front axle and rear third with my 488's and install kits during my build up last year. He charged me $400 to get ur done.

Nope the carrier bearing is at stock height. Dean took a boat load of pics. They are here. http://www.norcalttora.com/~dean/sas%20stuff/ and here http://www.norcalttora.com/~dean/the%20dick%20SAS/
Chuck made up the cross member initially, then it was corrected for clutch repalcement purposes then I added to it to add an addtional tranny mount and more skid plate. I have two tranny mounts figuring I needed it with the crawl box and extra torque.
AJ knows what it looks like enough to do the same.

Hey Chino.......you will have to get some 1" spacers from PartsMike for your steering knuckles to clear the Marlin Springs just a heads up..........I just got another update from AJ........aperently the 36's look like 31's on my truck because it is so high.......... they measured my truck and it's 5 feet to my door handle, and it's too high to measure to the roof
Thats way to much! Are sure that he was not kidding?!I just measured my other SAS truck and that is six inches higher than what I sit at with the 44044's. Crap! I guess I will have to take some leafs or buy some Ranchos just in case.

Chuck I already have the Alcans for the rear. They are sitting right here. I also have the Marlin's right here. Just when he told me that I was like crap. Tim Budda has them in the front and they were a replacement to the 44044's. He just told me he is just about right where he started. I just gotta see this thing on saturday. I just don't want to be that high. But will see.

Don't worry about the Marlins. They will settle down after having some weight on them for a while and then when you start wheeling on them, they will settle down again. I have to replace my Chevys too to gain some more lift in the rear. I still sit butt low and I could probably stuff 38s :p . They will settle down a bit.

Ya I wasnt't really worried about the height that much. I know that they will settle. Its just that I hope that my Alcans's can be right there or close to them. So that the dam thing doesn't look like all these big trucks with the horrible rake to them. I don't want the saggy ass! Thanks again Tim.

Anthony, you might want to try out (forgot companys name) 4" Chevy lift springs. We only use the stock leafs but if you want some lift, do some research and I'm sure you'll find them somewhere. That is, if you like the height of your truck to be tall :D

No....
I have a friend that has a Ford...with a HP dana 44 in front and a Dana60 in the rear...for a cheep price.......here in concord. He needs it GONE....I thought of Hytenor cause I know he will want at least the front axle........so I called him today and told him it needs a new home. Seller is a wheeler friendly person, and would rather see these parts go under a "wheeling rig" as opposed to someone who will turn the POS into his 16 year old's daily driver...
Truck is driveable, not tagged (95 tags) but has all the axles we want....I just talked to the seller, and Chris was there taking some pics and measurements. SOMEBODY in NorCal should get this rig, just for the axles alone. If I had the space, I would be all over it already......I would LOVE a HP44 and a 60 rear in the 4runner.......

I'm sure you could mod one of those ATV winches to hoist ya up to the driver's seat. Then patent some key fob with a button that reads "climb on!" and just hook into your harness (i.e. fancy belt). That could be your next build up.
So with 16" you're saying there should be minimal rub right?

you'll want to buy 40's....it looks so good and drives soooo nice.... getting in it is a serious biatch thou...you need some way wider sliders to step onto. i have to climb the rear tire to get in...the wife is going to hate you.
............thanks Chuck,I cant wait to pick it up today and try to get in it....good thing I am a gorilla and can climb.......I knew all those years of playing on the jungle gym at school would pay off :D
I think I need to make some kind of ladder for my wife to get in.

Chuck, head over to the local truck stop, pick up a couple of those cab handles, and bolt them dudes on. Those and some sliders that stick out 15" or so should do the trick :D

Anthony! That thing is huge. So we have to know how is the final verdict on how it rides. Did you finally decide on the body lift? Just let me know what you think of your new ride.

What about the body lift. Are you still going to ditch it? Just asking cause when I had the body lift on and then proceeded to take it off the ride and handing went way up. Just a thought cause I know that you have some additional stuff to do. But anyway enjoy and you need to come and see my double cab soon here!

.......you could probably fit 38's with the Marlin springs......it might be a little tight when you flex the truck.....I have a 2" body lift and the 40's fit just fine.
The Chevy springs I have on my truck are probably around 6.5" of lift+shackle+1" blocks..........these springs are for the rear only

i know this would be a ruff ride but im not lookin for flex or comfort so do you think a chevy 6 inch spring up front and maybe a chevy 6" and 2" block in the rear would be good for clearin 38's

The Chevy springs are way too long to use in the front.

besides the marlin springs and the wagoneer ones i always here about is there any other good spring to run up front with more lift? i guess if need be i could just have the subframe and hanger dropped down a little for that little extra lift. oh ya the marlin springs you used which ones are they?
Thanks for your help

its not about lift to fit 38's.. its about axle placement and trimming your fenders. Just push it way forward to keep the 38's from eating your firewall and then trim the crap out of you inner fenders, etc... as required.
W/ the marlin springs, body lift, and 40" iroks, Anthony's rig is only 3" taller than mine on 37's. go wheel a sidehill and you'll want your rig as low as possible so your sphincter doesnt leak as you teeter..

Welcome back, Chris.
thanks, it's been a rough week.
Now to get back to taking care of all the stuff I have to do.
I still have to figure out how to get that Ford up to Cloverdale...
It drives fine but has '95 tags and the front tires are 'iffy'.
I'll call DMV and see if I can get some sort of temp registration or something just to be able to drive it.

It was a question. Didn't you see the question mark? Did you see that question mark followed by this question mark? Do you know what a question mark means? They do get around don't they? Speaking of questions, there are lots of redarded ones in the 4X4 Tech folder. I'm wondering why there are so many. Do you know the answer? See, there goes another one. Gosh!!

Chris was implying that he was trying to find an answer to his question
"how to get that Ford up to Cloverdale"
your answer was posed as a question
"Tow it?"
so good answer is a correct response.
