Who plans to be at the park on Thursday?

I'd like to wheel a little in the afternoon with some of you ARTTORA boys before we all split up to guide and run the show.

No doubt.. We went to the park last weekend and had to leave early b/c his truck blew a clutch line. It's a rare occasion when one of us doesn't get put on the trailer before the weekend's up. Hoping we both get a whole weekend of wheeling in without too much carnage.

Glen, you're right, we should probably plan to meet somewhere (pavillion, probably) Thursday evening to take a crash course in running an event.

sounds good to me, i also want to run some of the easier trails across the road since i think thats the trails that you can see the city lights at night

i think King Cobra is a 3 right?? isnt that the trail that shows off the city lights :dunno:

I don't think so. I think the town would be on the other side of the hill. Like from the overlook on the way down to King Cobra? I haven't been on it at night though.

It is a three with one hill climb that moves it from a 2 to a 3. The hillclimb is only hard because of a rock that if not careful moves you into a tree. The by-pass was completly washed out last time I was on it. But who knows with Superlift, they have had several hard rains since I was on King Cobra last it may not look the same anymore.

Not so much the side as the top. Last time I went through a guy from Mid-south tore his soft top on the tree in our group. The other 5 or 6 in the group went a little slower and had no problem.

Seems like the last time we did that trail in May, it was washed out bad, and tipping would be a possibility. Don't think I'd want to do that one in the dark.

The bypass around the rock was washed out bad enough I don't think I would have tried it, scared of flopping. But the main trail was OK. Deep ruts though my T-Case mount plowed some dirt. This was in June sometime.

I would not do any trail across the road at night without scouting first during the day. It seems to have less rock and more dirt over there and therefore lots of ruts that come and go.

I hope to be able to make it down for saturday at least, got a buddy to be "cable bitch" for the day, so hopefully I can finally meet some of you guys, probably stay off the bigger 5 stuff and just run some 4's and lite 5's unless a group is running engrids, I would like to run it... hope to see ya saturday, :) Dave

Thems my trails! I won't be hitting the "impossible" 5s I have a low geared 4cyl rig, on 36's and I'm not crazy about pulling cable all day long. I will be working my way up to ingrids and verticle challenge, and concrete hill, and such.

I am like you.. and have about the same set up, I dont really go for the big loose climbs.. usually turns into a winch fest..anyone wants to try out a new winch, hit Warn hill sometime... :) looks like I am leadin a group Fri and sat and gonna run some upper 4 low-mid range 5 stuff... mostly technical type stuff.. but I will take folks wherever they wanna go. thinkin about running the trail "to easy" Sat but it can be a rig breaker, and needs to be saved for later in the run...

Too easy? Hmm I may have a hard time trail leading I'm not the most familiar with the park I guess. I think I have been on that trail. I will have to check my map, it sounds interesting. if you hit it sunday I'll tag along and let ya show me how its done.

im hoping to make it down thurs.... fuel pump died on truck.. gotta replace that hit it with timing light.... run around a bit see if any leaks are gonna pop up again.. im coming down early to make sure i can make it... maiden voyage on new motor eeek..... im gonna stick around for a few days i think.. if money permits... never know what gonna spend it on... an no havent signed up as of yet..... always afraid to say im gonna be there an something comes up..... damn gremlins wont leave my truck alone.. id love to be able to do a few easier trails with u guys.... truck still not up to par.. but im itchin to at least hit some dirt

we can run it later in the run, whoever wants..... its a 8-10 ft tall bitch of a ledge, :eek: ....so obviously, 5 rated stuff applies..when my group runs slammer, we are gonna have the option of running the first ledge on outlaw as well, if anyone wants.. another good ledge !!! then the final ledge on gregs rocks, also optional.. short wheelbase need not apply!! gonna be fun!!

I dont really like the rest of outlaw past that first wall, I know guys that are stretched and on 44's that wont hardly run it.. steep ledges on a already steep hill.. but we can get there and I will fall in behind and see about it.. :) LOL

Your options are 1) park at the top or bottom and walk in or 2) ride with somebody that can get to the obstacle. Most of these trails that are 5+ rated really aren't that long, so walking them isn't too big a deal. And there are some that are visible from the easy trails.

.. only exception I can think of is on Ingreids revenge, there is a 2 rated trail , snake trail I believe, comes to within about 50 yds of the waterfalls , cool place to watch the mentally challanged !! :)

Rubicon ridge is the only one that would offer some sort of view of the 5's but is a 3, and its kinda long, maybe for saturday if your a good boy,
