steer box template

Anyone have this in email form. i want to get the plates fabbed up before cutting if possible. Does a template exsist?

You have you steering box yet? if so there is your template....tracke the box and holes on cardboard and then line it up wit hteh frame as you please... :2cents:

It would vary a tad by where you put it on your frame. Some folks go further forward with it than others do. Some mount at a slight angle and other mount it vertical. The frame rails could vary a little by model year too. I know some had the bumper further forward than other model years but I do not know if that changed the frame rails further back.

frame rails are the same further back. I think its the 01's and up that had shorter frame rails.

The early trucks, 95-97 were shorter too.

Well you may hold sway on the AZ board but around here I am the grumpiest of them all. Once in a while Andy will try to challenge me and Mike even gets up on his horse occasionally but I have staying power.

make a cardboard template, keep the box as far forward as possible and just make sure the pitman arm clears the frame (w/ the tie rod bolt attached).
