When you look at some of the awesome older rigs Toyota produced, you wonder how the hell they came up with crap like this and the 2005 Taco design.

The funny thing is that Toyota is trying to get into the 4 wheeling market with the Cruiser. It is hard to tell how crappy the product is going to be because this was an early prototype and 90% was plastic and hacked together.

i told that guy from toyota that i thought that thing was a hunk a shit, he said "well its just a prototype" i was like "good thing, ya'll need to throw that thing in the fuckin trash and start over" i told that dude that i would embarrassed to drive a truck made by the same company that built that thing

I got some 4x4 magazines from Australia and it was full of pictures for the Toyota trucks that they get there. They get the kind of truck we want but can't get. Instead we get stuff that is less and less suitable for what we want to do with it.
That blue thing is going to go down for Toyota like the Aztec went down for GM. It looks better if you drive it backwards.
Even if Toyota would do a limited importation of the real off road trucks the rest of the world can get and we could special order them it would be way better then that blue lego truck.

What do you really think about it?
That thing was freakin' stupid. On the way home my wife and I were next to a Saturn VUE (or a Hyundai or some other piece of crap) and she was like, "That looks like that ugly blue thing from last night." Yep, it's a piece of trash.

The reason all of toyotas new stuff is crap is cause they are leting lazy americans do more and more design work. All they want to do is copy what someone else has not have an origional though for themselves. Toyota needs to leave it to the Japs and start building quality like they used to.... :2cents:

The biggest mistake was letting the most vocal critics get a very good look at a *mock up* of what's to come. If it was even pre-production, maybe, but not something mocked up for an auto show...
I'm sure they had to expect what they got from our group.
I personally had higher hopes, but saw about what I expected. I loved the fake winches fore and aft, as well as the 1" travel coilovers in the front; but it was the track lighting for me that just ended it all. I sure hope that doesn't end up in production.

turner said it best- "look at the toyota element."

At least the Element is what it is. It is not pretending to be riding on blood line of some real trucks like the LandCruiser. If that POS makes it into production and Toyota tries to link it in any way to the past LandCruisers, I think Toyota will be cutting their own throats. FJ and Cruiser should be reserved for real off road trucks and not a mall cruiser poser.

That thing was pure crap. The ONLY thing I liked was how much room there was for tools on the inside of the fender. LOL But it sure was funny watching the reps faces as every single person ragged on it. Turner was the best, though....tellin it like it is.

Shannon made us all be nice when they unveiled the 2005 Tacoma at last years takeover. Maybe the Toyota reps should go on a wheeling trip sometime?

We had one of the reps, Robyn Williams out with our group on Friday. She was taking video all day, and she loved it.

My favorite was the piece of blue tape hiding a scratch on the right quarter panel. just in front of the door.
