How would one go about acquiring one of these issues? I'm sure it won't be available anywhere here in NY.

I actually have some pics of the construction. If you would like to see them PM me with your e-mail. I had originally planned for them to bolt directly against the frame but once the install was complete I found that the caster and pinion angles were off just a bit. Caster was 10 degrees and pinion was 0. The spacers were added to correct the angle, the caster is now about 8 degrees and the pinion is 2 up.

Same here man, it was good to meet you and everyone else! Saw some old friends, made a lot of new ones. Cornbred and I sat and remenisced about the good old days when he and I had the biggest and baddest trucks in the group......

The yellow '79 is running dual trannies. Cool setup.

Dick Foster
08-03-2005, 12:05 PM
Dual trannies!!! How in the hell did he manage that? Now there is a lot of choices. lets say they are both 4 speeds and have the same gear ratios. That would be 4X4=16 X 2 for the transfer case so he has 32 gears. And here I thought us crawler folks were something with only 20 to choose from.

Ok so that is two 5 speeds and a transfer case. 5X5X2=50. It's pretty simple math Brian. Does this have something to do with government work? LOL
That rear drive shaft has to be a real shorty or he's got one hellofa wheel base.

OK to clarify what kind of tranny setup I am/was running---I am running dual w-56's--the first is a w56-b 2nd is a w-56d and a single 2.28 4cyl t-case
I have 50 forward gears 5 reverse

5 speed x 5 speed x 2 speed t-case = 50 gears
I gear down to around 180~to 1

my frame was NOT lengthed
It is a 1979 4x4 toyota truck longbed (#1308 of all Toyota 4x4's built EVER!)
f+r diffs both are welded
yes I did run some bald ass 35x15.50 TSL's(but I didn't have any problem catching traction--Just ask anyone who watched me run Q-trail)
my rear d-shaft is about 30" long I ran thick wall square tubing on both

I'm pushing 300HP in mine. But the tranny I'm building is a True R150F (just custom built-by ME!)

I'm thinking 'bout doing a r150 into a w-56 due to the spline count. Just need to do some figuring.

Hey NUKE, Muddin Mama told me to say hi to ya. :)

Where the hell has she been hiding??? I wanted to ask her, but maybe you can tell me...what are the names of the two ORV parks in Minnesota?

BTW, tell her, "Hi back."

I think he is happy with his tires. He ran alot of of upper blacks, and one red. But, I can't speak for him, look him up on the VA board. There are lots of trucks with 38's. Can you be more specific?

I will get with him on the VA board. I was talking about this truck with 38's...and how well it holds up with the lift he has on it.http://us.f3.yahoofs.com/users/42effa0dz226b68d1/fa6c/__sr_/db14.jpg?phufCADB5eaWIAS2
