I done screwed up

Took my F150 springs out to give them an overhaul with some new bushings, and now I can't find what I'm looking for. Maybe you guys can help.

The bushing I'm looking for needs to have a bolt hole .75" or smaller (can drill out...)

It needs to have an OD of 1.5". This is for 2.5" wide springs, so it needs have a 1.25" or wider "barrel" and a .25" flange.

I'm attaching a sweet paint rendering of the bushing I need.

Thanks, fellers!

Have you tried going to a parts store and asking? They may have a book under the counter for this..

If you can't find any you could do what I did, and make some temperary ones with electrical tape. I had to do that to put my old leafs back on.

drive to fort smith and stop by cgys. they have a shit load of energy suspension bushings instock. but do you atleast have one good one you can take with you to match?

seriously they have shit load of bushings laying around, open boxes from misc use (making transfer case mounts, left overs, etc.)

you can try a parts store, but i'd rather slam my hand in a car door than deal with some kid at auto zone.

Here's what I found:

http://www.silverstarcustoms.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=31&products_id=64

Right dimensions. I verified via emails with the owner, but I'm not paying $30 plus shipping for some bushings

http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/Energy-Suspension-Universal-Link-Flange-Type-Bushings.asp

I couldn't find the dimensions I was looking for here...

http://www.performancesuspension.com/leafspringbushings.html

Individual bushings not listed, and it was too late to call...

http://www.prothane.com/

Same as above...

So I went ahead and ordered these from Jeg's -
http://www.jegs.com/i/Prothane/311/19-608/10002/-1

Size I'm looking for, and about $22 shipped for 4 bushings / 2 leaf spring eyes

...And I refuse to drive anywhere further than 15 minutes to get a bushing :D It just shouldn't be that darn hard. I'll let the phone do the walking, if anything.

Also, I found this, but didn't have the patience for it. Plus, couldn't call to see who had this stuff.

Jordan, are the bushings on your F150 springs different sizes? Ie: is the bushing on the long side smaller than the bushing on the short side? I'm trying to make sure my mystery springs are going to mount the same as F150's. Both of my bushings are for 2.5" wide springs with a 3" sleeve and a 9/16" bolt hole, but one has a diameter of 1.75" and the other is 1.5". Does that sound like what yours are?

One is 1.5" ID with the metal spring-eye "sleeve", and the other is about 1.25" with the metal spring-eye "sleeve". The 1.25" will accept a standard Toyota leaf spring bushing, then just drill it out to 3/4" to use standard stuff ya find at hardware stores (grade 8, of course).

On mine, the bushing on the long side is bigger than the short side.

Hope that helps ya.

Long side bushing diagram is in the first post if ya wanna check it.

Also, I think these bushings will work for the long side eye...

Hmm.. It seems that our spring eyes are different after all. Not good for me. I was hoping to use the toyota bushing on the short side so I can use the 18mm shackle plates I already have. Gonna have to do some more thinking now..

I believe 18mm is close to 23/32, and 3/4 is 24/32, so it would be relatively easy to find a bushing with a 9/16 sleeve into a 3/4" hole (commonly done) for use with your drilled-out shackle plates. Hope that makes sense.

Cliff notes:
-Drill out shackle plates to 3/4" opening
-Find bushing that will fit in your spring eyes
-If needed, drill out bushing to 3/4" ID

I think I'm more confused now than before. So, are you thinking I should just run a 3/4" bolt on the spring end of the shackle? The bushing in the spring eye may be a 3/4 hole with a 9/16 sleeve. If it's a full length bushing, I could just drive the sleeve out, drill the plates to 3/4", and be good to go. Maybe..

MMMMmmmmm... Yea, more or less that's what I'm saying.

My vote is to replace the bushing that's in your springs with some poly bushings so that going "sleeveless" is an option. Then you can run 3/4" hardware on the spring side of the shackle by removing the sleeve and drilling out the shackle to 3/4".

I think we're on the same page.
