Looks like a great deal, but... Is it total crap?

Looks like yet another rebranding of a T-Max- the gear ratio matches, the planetary end looks the same, and the motor power is overstated.

The price looks pretty good, but I wouldn't buy my recovery equipment from a company that makes chrome running boards and 'brush bars'. (T-Max is owned by Westin, which is kind of confusing since Shittybilt also rebrands T-Max winches.) And I damn sure wouldn't be buying from a CL ad that's nothing but a bunch of search keywords.

Just my :2cents:, since many people seem to love the T-Max/Shittybilt winches.

That looks likes deal as long as the winch wasn’t submerged or in a front-end wreck. It’s hard to tell from that pic, and the link doesn’t help. Your going to at least need to see it to check it out, maybe even do a little testing if you can. I’d consider checking it out and buying if you don’t buy it, but I already have one. You can’t go to far wrong buying a used Warn winch, everything is rebuildable. My WAG is most used winches need new rope anyway, and if you go synthetic you won’t use the fairlead that came on that Warn anyway.

I have that same series Warn and wouldn’t sell it for $200.

Of course if you buy that you will have to spend a bunch of money, first a winch bumper and accessories, but you can spend a few years doing it and just keep shopping for deal. :)

Has anyone experience with Titan Winches? http://www.titanwinches.com/
Local supplier for me and seems to know his stuff, but I am new to this.
Thanks.
