All,

Wondered what peoples thoughts were on this winch... They are on IH8Mud forum, but I have never heard of them before. A few things first...

1- I know they are not a name brand, and such should be treated with caution

2- 20K is overkill for people like me right now (but might be looking into an 80series soon to give my Taco a brother)

3- Does anyone have any personal experience with PS gear?

Besides that, just wanted to know general thoughts. Weight seems a bit much, but then again it is a 20K winch... Anyone know of people with PS winch or gear?

The reason I am asking is because of my line of work. Our vehicles are fully armored and the company is restructuring soon. Everyone within the company is being sent to a 10 day Offroad Course back in the US. The vehicles we have now that are new are coming with bumpers and we might be able to set winches inside. Just looking at options right now for this aspect as well.

Thx

IMO its too heavy and will be slow. For the same $1,000 you could buy a Warn 9.5 and have more speed and 40 lbs lighter OR an M8000 and have $$$ left over to buy synthetic line and be 50+ lbs under.

Either of these will be enough for an 80 series and if you were in a tough spot you could always use a snatch block and double the capacity of the winch which means the "little" Warn M8000 can pull 16k lbs.

You will never need 20,000lbs of pulling power and if you ever really had 20,000 lbs of force you will likely damage the bumper you have it mounted in and/or the trucks frame.

I didn't buy their winch, but I bought their winch controller, solenoids and controller box for a winch, because I thought it was "good deal".

I didn't have any luck at any form of customer service. I had questions about the wiring the solenoids, e-mailed them a couple of times and attempted a phone call.

I figured it out on my own. Maybe my experience was isolated, but I felt that once the merchandise left their shipping address, I was on my own.

Hey if you need a winch that will pull a freight train out of "Lake Elmers glue" then go for it. It is a bit overkill for a Tacoma.
