I absolutely despise...changing the oil. It is so menial, and I just don't enjoy it. I would rather rebuild my buddies 13B than change the oil on my truck.
I really don't like changing the oil, draining fuel tanks, working on gears, drilling into metal, cutting metal, or electrical. Hell I don't really like working on vehicles in general.
Why the hell do I even off road!
and if you believe all that, I got a bridge to sell ya, in Arizona! :D but I understand your feelings on changing oil. Try that chore on a diesel! only thing that is easy on my diesel is reaching the oil filter, other than that, P.I.T.A! 15 quarts! need I say more?

bar none, changin oil on the 3.4L is totally pain in the butt. since I've got a custom skid plate with 8 mounting points, it's even harder, bolts have to be put on in certain sequence otherwise the tolerance is so tight, it's not going back properly. I should have take it down and enlarge the bolt holes last time, but stainless steel is a bitch to work on.
it's been 6 months since the previous oil change, but I only put on 4000 miles with M1 full synthetic, I'll probably wait till 5000 miles.
I may try the Fumoto valve.
on the other hand, wife's 4.0L V6 is a breeze, 100 times better design.

I need to do my sliders, front, and rear bumpers, and my wifes sliders too...:(
After long hard consideration, I think I have the most taxing, unwanted chore possible!
dealing with my entire truck! still not any closer to a fix than I was before!

^^^I feel for ya...I really do. I understand how frustrated you must be by this point in the game...
new lead on problem. I contacted a master tech from another area (guess where from? Texas!!!!!! imagine that)
anyway with out hesitation he told me what he thought it was and it makes sense...again! so off another chase! at least this one only involves taking half the motor apart instead the entire truck:o
(just joking about taking the motor apart, just the front belts and cover. :lmao: )

what'd he say...timing issue?
in a round about way. I'll move this topic to my issues thread as to not clutter up this thread with off topic
