I bought this T after my Tacoma was bought back a few months ago. Took me forever to find exactly what I wanted. I found this one in KY a few hours from me.

With the help of Bear :saw::welder:I am in the process of installing a ToyTec BJ spacer kit with extended shackles. I will be ordering a 2" body lift (I know, dont say it)for it and then building sliders. Skid and bumpers will follow. I just bought some 33" BFG MT's for it today.

That's false advertising! ;) it don't look anything like that any longer. The bj lift is finished and looks good.

First time I had installed a ball joint lift and it wasn't too bad after the first side was finished. the second side was basically done on "auto pilot"

Scott, let me know what the schedule is for this week. as of right now I just have my truck scheduled to be worked on so we can go pick up the metal or do whatever.

I should probably let scott answer, but since I know he is at work I'll chime in on what we have been discussing.

whatever dimensional size he goes with, the minimum wall thickness will be .120 but I may have him talked into using .180. ( I know the thickness adds weight, but regarding sliders I like "beefy" over weight savings)

We have been discussion a hybrid type of slider with either square or rectangle tubing for under the rocker panals and then round tubing off of that somewhat like a nerf bar look. He also is thinking about angling the round tube up as well as building a kickout toward the bed end.

I am trying to talk him into using 1"x either 4" or 6" for main beam with 1.75" for the round tubing.

The sliders will have minimum of 4 legs attached to the frame via weld on scab plates.

I like the hybrid better in terms of building one, I'd go 180 wall, too, since they are gonna be pretty long. notching is the most PITA part of the deal.

as for kick-out, I like Stubb's design, simple and effective.

I've installed 3 sets of bj spacers on mine and others 2nd gen 4runners. since they are the same as your T100, I would say 2 things:
a.) maybe it's a little late, did you change out the ball joint grease zerk to a straight one, because you can't pack it with the original angled zerk after the spacer.
b.) not too late, get some grade8 nuts and swap out the grade 5 and put on spring lock washers under the nut. they will back out over time. those black head bolts are heat treated so they are fine. do one nut a time, only gonna take few minutes.

Yeah there is a straight zerk on there I can get to easily.

There are some locking nuts that were put ontop of those nuts you see in the pic. That is what the kit came with. I might still try switching those out sometime.

I was happy to see straight zerks packed with the new ball joints! I loaded the first ball joint before installing but was able to wait on the second one until the ball joint was installed. made it a lot less messy.

on the nuts, I was a bit surprised to see toytec employ a locking nut set up. But it worked out good. I know what you mean about the grade 5's though. I was letting scott "torque" the first nut down, because I have a tendicy to over do it. I stripped out one nut installing the ones you see in the photo, but with as many lifts and what not. I had extra nuts which came in handy.

When I built my sliders I used 2x2 .188 wall for the legs and main rail under the rocker and 1 5/8 .120 DOM for the outer rail/

I too wanted the round angled up......but I did it different than most and I think it works out better......Instead of laying the inner sruare rail flat and angleing the round up off it I cut the legs off at an angle and layed the inner square rail in at the same angle I wanted the outer round to be at then welded the round square onto it....the angle I ran roughly matched the angle of the rocker.....I also knotched the pinch weld so I could keep everything in close.

By doing it the way I did I acomplished two things.

1. When I bottom out only the corner of the square tube touches which lets it slide along easier than having the entire flat side bottomed out.

2. with the legs angle cut they have more surface area in contact with the main rail that takes all the abuse and therefore more weld.



I hope this rambleing makes sense and is some how helpfull.

how does your friends tire size compare to yours? that may have something to do with yours not sitting as high as you wanted in comparison

Yeah I thought about that. He has 31's and I have 30's on there right now.

I took the truck to 4 wheel parts on east washington today. Ran into some issues tryin to get it aligned today. The front bolt on the passenger side and the rear bolt on the dirvers side are seized up. I found the replacement parts thru the stealership today. The front bushing and hardware are replaceable for about $75. The rear one is the big issue. The whole a-arm will need to be replaced, as the bushing is not replaceable. The dealership said he would give me wholesale on it for $200. I may get lucky and not need any of this if they can break free the bolts. I had them stop working on it today until tuesday when they will put more force and heat on the bolts. I'll let them do what they can and replace what gets broken or cut out.

50% - 50% mix of acetone and ATF, the single best penetrating fluid on earth, let is soak for couple days see if you can break the bolt loose.

what alignment spec can't you get into the green?

Even if they won't break free there are ways of cheating to make it all work with out having to replace those parts.

Two of the 4 bolts won't move to be adjusted
