JP navigated us to a nice camp location.

The silt was deep, high centering didnt help.

Strange thing is for a portion of the trip I had my "VSC OFF" idiot light flashing. After wheeling the second morning it went out, everything appeared normal. Tried looking up what causes this warning light to come on, no luck. Any ideas?

If you hadn't led me into the sand trap...

I'll get my pics out of the camera and post them later. I'm still trying to get the silt out of my shoes :(

Nice pictures Charlie.......

But A-trac wouldn't likely have engaged on the section of road that JP got hung up on. Mostly works great on real off camber stuff. Glad you all made it back home safe!!!

Where was the campsite at?? Delamar??

The campsite is towards the North end of Delamar Valley.

ATRAC or not, the truck was high centered on the berm. Could have been locked front and rear and still not gone anywhere.

It's time to put 38" tires on that red 4runner.

Am I buying your old tires? Maybe, if they fit my wheels and the price is right.

Charlie, his son and myself spent two days exploring Mormon Well Rd. and the Delamar Valley this past Memorial Day weekend.

Mormon Well Rd. was traversed, predictably, without any incident. We had lunch on Saturday at the top of the pass and proceeded on to camp at a secluded spot I know in the Northern Delamar Valley. We made camp in the late afternoon and enjoyed some cold adult refreshments while watching the sunset and then prepared dinner. It was the first time I used my new REI camp kitchen setup and it really worked out well. It made it easy to prepare meals and stay organized.

Sunday morning we had a nice hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs and sausage (two varieties) and then we were off. We traversed the Delamar Valley from North to South which encompasses a variety of dirt trails and roads, some which allow Baja style speed wheeling :D

After a minor stuck where I buried my truck to the skids in a silt bed, we came out the South end of the valley and hammered down the super-slab Southbound. A brief stop at the new Love's Truck Stop at the junction of US93 and I-15 for Charlie to look for cheesy trucker accessories :p and it was an easy cruise back home.

My pics: http://lasvegashikes.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=11

Charlie has some great pics, including evidence of my stuck, in his album: http://s154.photobucket.com/albums/s246/Glorybigs/Delamar%20Valley%20May%202010/

All in all we had a great weekend. :)

How easy is that REI camp kitchen to break down?

It's cake really. Folds down pretty flat in a minute or two into a bag that easily fits in the back of the truck.

Ummmmmmmmmm.......didn't you already have a thread for that trip??

It was actually the same as your planning thread.

I forgot, I was going to move some of the posts into a trip report.
I'll try and do that when I have the chance, I'll just merge the posts into this thread.

It put them in chronological order. :D
