What do you guys think of this spacer?

What do you think? It is the same reason many guys use double sheer on thier high steer arms and other high stress/critical connections. I think it is an accident waiting to happen. Its no so much the surface area contact as it is the leverage that has been multiplied by moving the load an additional 1"+/- above the contact surface. To summarize...stupid idea IMO!

Didn't you ever notice the extra leverage with the longer mop and broom handles?

just wondering why?

I'm guessing he's asking why anyone would run a setup like that, not why it's 100% retarded.. I hope :scared:

Some guy in Hawaii made the spacer to "Allow for more travel, and to bring his Uniball alignment" back in check...Or some shit like that. I didnt think it looked like a good idea, but wanted to run it by you all.

the spacer is like a ball-joint spacer, probably in his case to keep the control arm from hitting the coil, I run 1/2" ones because their a nessety with my crappy ass dakota lift that came with with 1" of down travel , probably need to weld them to the control arms so it's not in sheer(top of bj fits into hole like a hub centric wheel), but eh.. I lazy it's all getting :saw: anyways

Yeah, I went back and looked at the washers style lift deal, and I am still beside myself that someone would try something so fucked up. Hell, my wife saw the pic and without me even saying anything said, "That doesn't look very safe?!" Do us all a favor and tell him to fix that shit so he doesn't kill someone we know.

Dick Foster

Fuck that, give him gas money to go to Wash, DC. Or Sacramento CA would be good too.

Not a problem; he's in georga.
All he has to do is get the correct balljoint spacers. his excuce is he rides his bike and only put 50miles on it:rolleyes: myself and everyone on the Dakota forum are flaming the shit outta him to do it.
The ball-joint spacers would run him only $80shipped

I say email those photos to every newspaper in Georga. They will have a field day with it. The following days headlines will read, "Be warned, this guy may be driving through your neighborhood, he is a known crack head and may try to steal your washers!"
