Does anyone know if there is anything i have to do for pre work b/f welding shock tabs to the rear axle? Drain the diff? Unplug the rear locker? I was looking at a rear armor for the diff and the website said that you had to drain the diff, but if the tabs for the shocks are way out on the end will I have any problems?

you'll be fine aslong as u dont let it get toooo hot. if u got 2 tabs for each shock, then weld one tab on the left side of the axle then go and do one on the right to give time for the left side to cool down before u weld the other tab on there. aslong as ur careful and dont burn threw then youll be fine.

Weld a little at a time. The TRD housings are thin and will warp with to much heat.

what i've read is weld an inch at a time alternating sides. I'm about to weld new shock tabs and perches on my rear this comming weekend. :welder:

another note, place ur work clamp on the side ur welding on so u dont create an arc thru bearings, etc.
