I am gathering pieces for my Solid Axle Swap. I bought a complete 1985 Jeep Wagoneer Axle.
I am gathering parts to rebuild and have looked at many sites on what parts to use. My questions are. I can get Parts Mike knuckles. Do I use my Jeep Spindles, rotors and calipers and hub or do I use Chevy parts? It sounds like I can or a combination of both.

I believe Parts Mike uses Chevy knuckles, so they should bolt onto Waggy spindles. You should use the Waggy stub shafts, as spindles and stub shafts should go together, i.e. Chevy with Chevy, Jeep with Jeep, Ford with Ford.

The smart thing to do would be to go with the Chevy outers from an early 70's K10 or K20. I am running the waggy outers on my HP D44 and it is a pain in the ass to find spare stubb shafts. The chevy parts are really cheap and the stubb shafts are everywhere. I plan on swapping soon if I don't get chromo shafts. Either setup will work on the partsmike knuckles. As long as you use either all chevy parts or all waggy parts on the outers.

That does seem to be the best way to go. Parts for almost all Chevy fullsize trucks are very readily available, plus you know the lug pattern will match.

Crane Engineering makes a bad ass set of inner and outer knuckles. Wish they were out when I did my SAS.

I bought the inners when I bent one of mine about a year ago. The inners are really nice... But Im not going to buy outers when I already have flat top knuckles... If I ever break one then maybe I will go that route.

Then what spindles go with chromo stub shafts? Or are they made to match the spindle?

I am trying to understand here. The Dick had told me some goond info which I can no longer find in my PMs. The outters yo all mean form the Outter knuckle out to the Hub? I have the Flat Tops off an older waggy which is the ones that Parts mike told me to get. With numbers ending in _ _ _ 520 and _ _ _ 519. Now are the waggy spindles different from those found in the Chevys? I know the Back plates on the Chevys are way thicker.

As far as spindes go as far as I know the waggy splindles are the same as the 6 lug chevy spindles. THey are interchangeable, I have run 6 lug chevy spindles with waggy wheel bearings so they are the same. Just make sure you get the 1/2 ton 6 lug spindles because from what I understand the 8 lug 3/4 ton stuff has slightly larger spindles.
So go with either waggy spindles or chevy 6 lug spindles.
As far as the knuckles go the the spindle pattern is the same so waggy spindles will bolt up to chevy flattops.-Todd
