Looking at possibly doing this. Thinking maybe a 70 series with the diesel. Someone did this (someone did on the old national board I thought) before, can't remember who though. Any model recommendations? Websites with vehicles? What all would I have to do? etc. Thanks. :camping:

Talk to Wayne at: http://www.luxuryimports.ca

He has a huge amount of experience sourcing and importing Cruisers from Canada to the US. He also have a number of right hand drive Japanese models in stock too. Wayne is in Calgary.

Also talk to Dan at http://www.4wheelauto.com.

Dan does excellent restoration work and has great deals on parts. I am pretty sure he has done the export to US many times too...

Just to add... there is a huge number of right hand drive Cruisers in Canada now. They are being imported like crazy. A classic 70 series left hand drive is getting more and more rare - and most of the good ones are being sent to the US for big dollars.

If you want to keep your eyes open for a private sale, the best site is: http://www.canadatrader.com - there are a number of BJ-74's on there right now.

Also http://www.sor.com has a good classified section that is North America wide.

REad the importation thread in the international section of the ih8mud.com forums, best info out there. I have imported a diesel LC from Canada, was not that hard but they are rare, expensive, and hard to find in decent shape... You can also only legally import ones originally intended for the Canadian market, FWIW
