I have a guy locally offering to sell me a D44 out of an 78 Cherokee fullsize(??)
and was wondering if this was too wide or is it a good start?I know it has a drivers side drop,but am waiting for him to email me back about the WMS width measurement.Thanks in advance for any help!

I am not too sure, but I read somewhere on another forum that some Cherokee Full Sire Axle was too wide. Something like 65 WMS. I could be wrong.
GOT COPE?

Id stick w/ what we know works, and that would be a 1980 and up Jeep Wagoneer D44.
But let us know what the WMS turns out to be on this axle you're looking at. It may work.

Width is only a problem if you want the rear track to match.
Full width is great for stability.

Well the guy got back to me just a few minutes ago in an email and said the measurements were as follows:
WMS=61"
Spring to Spring=32"
So i guess i will take the 2 hour drive out and see for myself!
