Well.....for those of you that, for one reason or another......didn't or couldn't go.....Too Bad!!!!

The weather was insane!!!! Just an absolutely Beautiful day!!!:woot::woot: Perfect day to wheel!!! :D

We changed the time to 10:30, as with just the two trucks......we would be able to travel a Lot faster than waiting for a group of people to catch up....as we always seem to do on thie trip!

Surprising, and dissapointing as well......is that the road down from the outlook, where the Big washout always seems to be......wasn't really there any longer!! I tried to hit any line I could to make it interesting....but.....

Get jamming down the wash....always fun!!!!

Get up and over the last hill before dropping down into the last canyon before the water....did both mini rock gardens and finally saw the water....about 200 yards futher out than I have about ever seen it!!!

The Lake may be going up.....but they're also letting less water out of the damn!!! The new "Beach" was like two feet from the main channel of the River!!! And all of the stingy dried up stuff and the proximitty to the river channel, made us go back to solid ground to have lunch and relax for a bit.
I could see my dog float away in the river....didn't want that to happen!!

After we left the cove, I went and showed Kenny some other areas that most people don't know about. Had to do a little rock crawling to get back there....but once back in this other canyon....it was well worth it!! It's really pretty back there!!!!! :D:D

So....cool way to spend a Sunday....and not in front of the TV watching football all day....even though my team was actually being shown locally!!!

Good times!

Alotta great pictures in there. I'm still uploading mine. Probably gonna be a little bit, only on 50 of 154 right now. Turns out my phone's 8MP camera is super selective with a ridiculously narrow focus plane. . . Sometimes.

I'll post a few and link back to my gallery whenever it's done.

Here's a few of mine, and a link to more below.

Next trip out, i'll haul the S3 Pro out as well as my GoPro HD. This phone camera seriously sucked.

I did, however, make sure we needed to use some sort of recovery gear because i'm an idiot and got stuck. Gotta have some sort of entertainment out there, right?

Oh. . . and a quick vid of Robert finding things to do. Background music (very quietly) performed by Between the Buried and Me.

There's a couple more videos uploading to my PB right now. I'll get those up on youtube within the next few days. Faster this way, for now.

Would you say burro wash is 4WD mandatory or do you think a locked up 2WD with a super low 1st gear on aired down beadlocks on 33's could do it?

I've got something on 35's with 4WD but the 2wd truck looks like it would be more fun from the pictures above if it doesn't really get that bad rock crawling wise.

Yeah.....in it's current condition, you can do it in either truck!! The optional section that we did is 4x4 only, but I other than that, you should be fine. Go with at least two trucks, as always.....there's safety in numbers!! :D

I'm a spy eco nazi trying to find out your offroad secrets!!! LOL TOTALLY KIDDING!!! I go to the land meetings myself... Don't stress! I'm just a lurker here on TTORA... The search button works wonders! LOL

Not sure if this is the right place for an intro but you asked so... :p

I've lived here in Vegas about 3 years now. Offroaded my whole life. 34y/o Ride/race dirt bikes in endurance style offroad stuff, not on tracks like what you see on TV mostly. I've got a Jeep TJ which is probably a four letter word on this forum that's on 35's, winch, geared, other goodies and is my next project focus. I also own a '89 toyota 2WD pickup that's caged bumper to bumper with a 3.4L swap, 18" of travel up front and 3 linked in the rear with 24" of travel running a ford 9" with 5.04 gears and a spool. It's not one of those kids trucks with fenders that thinks it's way better then it really is. LOL

I do design work in the auto industry here in Vegas for a living and bang on keys behind the keyboard drawing parts. At home in the garage tho I do 100% of my own fab work.

Here's pics the TTORA related hooptie screwing around with the highlift on the rear bumper...

2012 I'll be tinkering with the jeep doing some driveline mods and a locker as well as a basic cage but that's really about it. Most of my time will be building a tacoma that a friend and me will be racing hopefully late 2012 with plans to really hit the scene in 2013.

Hope that first sentance didn't scare you too much!!! LOL

Mostly automotive bling and classic mustang reproduction parts.

That's our product line...

Like I said, I do most of my 4LO stuff in a jeep and I have my higher speed fun in a yota.

Cool....I was at SEMA, didn't see Drake in the south hall. Did you go?

Yeah I was there for 3 days walking around and our booth is always in the central haul cause 90% of our product line is the classic mustang stuff so were down with all the hot rod performance type guys typically. The offroad and muscle car lines or sort off side things we got going. The jeep bling stuff actually sells really well but our bread and butter is classic mustang stuff. We've been around for 30 years and are the biggest supplier of classic mustang reproduction parts in the nation. I've tried for the last 2 years to have them do a small booth in the south hall upstairs but they haven't bit on the idea yet.

Our offroad line is all personal opinion stuff. It's cosmetic mostly and some love it, some don't. But when it comes down to cosmetic it's all personal taste anyways so I don't get offended. We've got a couple parts that I don't have on my jeep even with them being free to me as one of the 2 designers. LOL We also do have a couple parts though that I really do love which is not like me cause I'm usually performance WAY over looks/bling! We do have some stuff for the FJ line and a couple of those things do crossover to the 4.0 tacoma platform.

Holy crap... Just looked at the list in your signature... your 4 runner would eat my jeep alive in the rocks!!! LOL

LOL priorities obviously!!!!

Interesting that he has the ARB's front and rear but didn't regear at the same time? Not running current tire size when you locked up or not in the budget for both? I've only got 2 things really on my wish list other then a functional trans in my heep other then the one that's going out in it right now. LOL and a rear locker is one of those two items.

On a side note and more off topic but at least toyota related... I built a pretty nice set of rock sliders for a friends FJ a few weeks back! He lives in Mammoth though and came down just so we could build these! LOL Long drive for some sliders but only took us one long day to do. Completely bolt on using the 8 existing threaded holes on the frame. First test was lifting it off the ground using my hi-lift. It passed so he went home! LOL
