Hey i am wondering how the blisten adjustable shock works because i want to lift the front end without spacers but i want to try and save money and not get new coils. Does the shock just lift it by compressing the coil... how does it work and how well, thanks
Yes, it just adds preload to the coil. The lower coil bucket on the shock body has different height settings. As you go higher, the more preload on the coil and the more lift you get. Added preload stiffens the suspension, but the Bilstein shocks offer the best ride.
Makes sense now its all about decisions. I possibly will be getting a bumper in the future so i should probably just wait on coils and then get the heavy duty ones.
OME or Eibach/Toytec are nice for a non-adjustable setup, thats relatively inexpensive. Just make sure to get the right weight coil that matches your truck/setup.
Tacoma jake do you think it would be okay to throw some 620 LB eibach coils on my 4 banger ext cab? Toytec said they think i shouldnt put the OME coils on Billies and they said that the Eibach 620 would be a good fit, a little stiff but not to much.
It all depends on how heavier of a front bumper you put on the truck. 620lb coils may be a little stiffer for a lighter tube style front bumper but would probably work great with a heavier plate style bumper. I don't see why you shouldn't put OME springs on the Billies. Many members here have done this with great results. I'd say OME 881's would be perfect for a 4 banger with a bumper. And maybe 882's or the 620 Eibach coils if the bumper is really heavy.
yah i probably wont have the money for a bumper for awhile so i think ill go with the OME, my only concern was that toytec said they dont recomend me putting OME on the billies but i guess ill see what happens
i just wonder if the eibach 3 inch would be to hard on my cvs. I think i would be okay with the stiffness but i feel that 3 in might be a little to much. my rear is up 3 tho, with OME i would have some pretty intense rake
The eibachs will be hard on your front end. But thats expected with any kind of lift. I run Icons with a 620lb spring and no bumper or any extra front end weight. I think the ride is fine. Kind of stiff but not too much. I do have a 6 cyl though.
