The top image is for Prerunners and 4WD models. The lower is for 2wd "mini" models.
MOOG is the only other brand I'd recommend other then OEM.
The correct MOOG part number should be #EV433. Most online places either don't have a image for the part or the wrong image. Advanceauto is one of the few retailers that has the right part image.
just curious if you have ran the moog inners showstop? The are a bit cheaper than the OEM and if they hold up about as well... Im still looking at some sort of heim/clevis steering setup though.
Never run the MOOGs before. I've been an OEM guy on those for a while. My new rack came with aftermarket inner TREs, so we'll see what happens with those.
Another dumb question. Should I do both at the same time, or does it matter? I know I will need an alignment afterwards anyway, but didn't know how much of a pain in the ass it is changing these.
I don't think they are all that hard to change. But if it were me I would do both and then have the alignment. Its is worth the time and money to just do the job once and if one has play in it the other is not far behind it. Ive probably done about 12 inner tie rods since 2004.
Inners are easy to change, you don't even need to take the wheel off. Might as well do both. The outers usually last a really long time unless they movement is not smooth or the boot is torn or cracked.
It would make sense to replace both inners at the same time. You don't have to, but I would recommend that. The outers are much stronger and last longer. No need to replace those as frequently.
