Although it looked like the landing was kind of off at an angle, that was pretty cool! How far would you say he jumped that truck? What are the specs on it? What kind of photo shoot was it for? A magazine? Cool music, too!

Thanks for all the cool info, pics and specs on that awesome truck. Kung Fu - what an appropriate name for it, too! I noticed it has a Ford 9" rear. Is the Ford 9" that much stronger than the Toyota non-TRD rear? Or was the switch made so that it could run a spool? Does Dan race that truck?

By the way, I showed the vid to my friends at work, and they also think it was pretty cool.

yeah dan races that truck. seen a few 1450 races this season (thats where he rolled it), and planning to run a few score races (laughlin challenge) but no sure about that

Man it is amazing how competitive 1450 is gettin now-days. In a few years they might have to 'remake' it. Like a 1450 and a 1450S (speed maybe). Wasn't the original interntion to make it so 'prerunner' guys (and gals!) could race without having a full-tilt racer? So the specs were made with little restrictions.

Well maybe there isn't as many hardcore racers as I think there is...

There will be a sort of leveling of the playing field in the 1450 class next season. There is a gentleman's agreement that the "faster" guys will race class 1400 next year...what I mean by "faster" is generally the trucks that are linked, chopped frame and have a lot of hp.

I know I have spent some time on the phone with some desert race guys, but I can't keep track of real name, screan names, team names and so on.

I know Brian, my partner has tuned a couple of race trucks and I was just trying to figure out if this was one of them.

Wow, that is not what I am used to hearing and certainly is not the norm. I am not aware of anyone not completely satisfied with us or our products.

Gadget, you guys the whole time were telling us it wont work the truck wont even start and that we are wasting our time.. Then we asked if we could find out about tuning, we totally were blown away by the responses we got. I actually felt bad for Dan that I even recommended your kit, he was gung ho on the TRD 7th and i was pushing that your kit was better... To be honest with you Brian is a Jackass, he was on the phone and he was via email. I emailed you like 2-3 times and you basically blew me off also. We got the truck running, its not tuned and we wish it was. We know it can run alot faster if it was tuned out.

Hell we could not even buy the kit direct we had to buy it through a friend and had to have him order another one. Brian even told us he wouldent sell us the kit because it would be a waste of money since the truck would not run...

Don't you just love happy endings? lol Good luck to team DNF with your search for a tuned vehichle. The truck looks dialed in with the way it sucked up that landing.

Gadget, there might be another truck looking for mods in the near future. It's the Shroom truck #1452 (http://www.dezertrangers.com/cgi-bin/ib/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=26;t=25515). I want to see it give the other trucks a run for it's money :D

Too bad you guys weren't closer. I could've helped you guys tune it. I have all the "gadgets". Don't know if LPKris is still around but he has some tuning also.

I will bite my tongue when it comes to Brian and how helpful he really is. However, I have had some experience tuning my truck and feel I have it down pretty well. If you want me to give it a shot let me know. I have all the stuff that is needed. Shoot me a pm and we can talk. I can tune it as early as tomorrow afternoon/evening or sometime this weekend just let me know.

Thanks dude...but our ECU is as stripped down as Dan's is (yes, the truck starts and we preran the Baja 500 and did the MORE shootout with the ECU this way) and based on his experience, we will most likely go with the TRD 7th injector kit when we get the supercharger.

If brians not too busy I could use a tune also. Mine has a hesitation when you step on it and I don't know if the choke/fuel inrichment is working when I start it up cold?

If so that would be a great time. We are already doing another truck while we are there on Monday.
