This is my first post so bear with me. I was wondering if anyone has ever towed a car hauler trailer with a Jeep Wrangler on it? I'm about to buy one from a friend and was trying to determine the best method to get it home. Also, I will be taking the Jeep to some off road parks in the state I live in (Alabama). I drive a 1998 Tacoma Limited V6 4x4 with a 3" suspension lift and 31x10.5R15 tires.
Any input would be appreciated
If the trailer has brakes and your truck has a brake control box then yeah you could probably do it but I wouldn't make a habit out of it, otherwise no- not for any kind distance anyways.
This. I've hauled 5k lbs (maybe a lil more) short distances and it's not fun. Normal 30 minute drives turn into 40. Hills are your mortal enemy. If you have a standard, taking off is a b!tch. Automatic and forget OD and you have to have a cooler. Even a good sized empty trailer (16-20' lowboy) will be very noticeable. These trucks were not built to pull.
Even with my v8 hauling shit like that sucks, trucks just ain't built for it
