1-3/4 .120 HREW has been holding up great for the many that have been running mine. These guys have put them to pretty good use and there hasn't been one negative comment about them yet and I've had them available for years now. 1-5/8" seems like a oddball size, (but a good diameter) I'm not understanding the .09 Do you mean .095?

It'll work for sliders and bumpers, but he should be using DOM at the least for a cage, not HREW. Maybe it is DOM...? It probably is since its kind of uncommon to see 1-5/8" HREW, but DOM is more common for those 'inbetween" sizes.
You can look inside and use your finger to see if the welded seam is raised slightly or real smooth. DOM has a welded seam like HREW, it's just much smoother. HREW is rasied a bit, but can sometimes be pretty smooth too, but you should definitely be able to see and feel it if it's HREW.
I see what you mean, he was definitely still on the fact that it was HREW. But I'll take a look for my self. As for the cage, thats the minimum requirements for Formula D so I guess he decided to go the cheapo route.
Thanks though for the info. Cant wait to get started.
FINALLY! haha
