I want to thank Crhis for helping me with the rear shocks relocation.. He went the extra mile it took to get it right and the straps make it a good bling bling too... ;)
I went for the Bilsteins 7100 Short Body with 255/70 valving....
The droop gains were impresive....!!

The more I drive my truck the more I like them.. They handle the weight I carry much better than the Bilsteins 5100 I had before... :D
Now I am all set for the Anza run.... ;)

Looks good. I have a question, how much uptravel do you have left ? I am looking at the pic, and it looks very straight up and down. I am just letting you know that you may need some bigger bumpstops to keep the shocks from bottoming out. I had to add about 3/4" more bump into my rear to keep from banging the shocks.

How much do you want to pay for them? They are good for 2" to 3" of lift...

Although, I am using the stock bottom bump stop and a 21/2" after market top bump stop I may have to put a longer bottom bump stop because is pretty close.... :D

He has a 1/2 after he bumps out before his shocks are fully compressed.

Sounds good. From the pic, it's hard to see the extra bumps. So hard to get the right light under the truck for pics.... I would just hate to see him smack them up and break stuff if there is an easy fix. But, you fixed it already!!! Nice job, Chris!!!

Nice setup. Do you have the deavers 8 leaf with HD Downey shackles? How much weight do you carry.

I have Deaver custom 9 leaf springs and the Heavy Duty Downey Shackles..
As per weight with camper and everything else inside I probably have around ~600 lbs... :D
Thanks,

Hmmm.....I think they'd be a bit too small, seeing that I have about 4.5-5" of lift.

Just out of curiosity, why are they mounted so far inboard, toward the center of the axle?

Me and rojodiablo left the same amount for mine, and it worked great, never bottomed out the shocks, nice work man! Really impressive!

Does the shock crossmember help support the weak frame rails too?
I saw the reinforcement plates welded on the frame rails and was wondering if
the 2 combined would make it even better?

I sure hope there isn't any negative side of mounting them that way... If there is please let me know...
As you probably know there isn't a production rear shock relocation already available to the public (Tacomas) and so some or maybe most of us go for what we think is best for the type of offroading we do...
In this case I tried to get the most articulation out of the rear end and stay away from extreme angles... like this /\ and keep them as streight up as I could like factory...
I guess we could've gone a little more outwards but did not feel like missing with the break lines.... :D
Obviously some people would go different ways until they find what they really need again depending on the type of offroad they do....

It does add a little bit of support to the frame, but the best thing to do would be plate the outside of the frame over the wheelwell or box the frame in.
The shock crossmember was simply put in to allow a strong mount for the shocks.

-+-----+- vs. ---+--+--- , the first is FAR more resistant to body roll, but I think it still looks nice and probably performs just fine.
