I am going to install the addicted offroad bumper on my 02 sometime this weekend, and it came with led turn signals, but scott said I would need a relay to make them blink or something I was wondering which relay you all were getting I asked him but he never got back to me on it. Can somebody fill me in on why a relay is needed to run the led turn signals?
So what happens is because the LEDs use so little power (current) the truck thinks the bulb is burned out so the whole system blinks much faster, all you have to do is trick the blinker circuit into thinking that there is still a bulb in there pulling the correct amount of power. So just install the led blinker as normal and take a 8-10ohm resistor (one of those big white ones you can get at radio shack for 3-5 bucks, the resistance doesn't matter that much) and wire it between the power lead and the ground lead, IF it was a wire it would be connecting the power directly to ground and the LED wouldn't function.
Has this been done to the 01-04 models all of the sigs i saw in that thread were 99 or below
