I'm going to be doing an sas on my tacoma and I can't bring my self to spend 700$ on a rock assault housing. So the question is, how hard would it be to take a toyota axle and flip it? I know you have to cut the outers on the housing to turn them but besides that how hard would it be?
I've considered this rout for a swap and I figure I'll hijack for a second. If I did it I would want to use an elocker 3rd. I checked this with my old 3rd and when moving to the front if leaving the 3rd the gears will be rotating backwards when going forward on the front. If you turn the third upside down creating a high pinion would it starve the pinion gears of to much oil? Will the elocker work if the third is installed upside down to correct pinion angle?
by the time you finish futzing with that flipped housing you will spend about the same $.
