Ok someone has to know more about LED/HID lights than I do.
I have been looking for an off road light to go behind my grill not sure which is better LED/HID I love the look of the LED light bar but want lots of light to back it up. Also want a good looking switch so it looks factory on the inside.
Led lights are the latest greatest thing. HIDs are also nice but will wear out fast than LEDs. Both are good choices. Piaa hella are the big name to look at. I dont know what space you have behind your grill. So you will have to measure that and figure ouw what size you need. Don't go too big you dont want to stop air flow to the radiator.
What do you want to use the lights for? Fog, Driving, Spot, etc?
If they will only be used offroad, you can do the HIDs on the cheap with an HID Kit, and some Hella 500's or something. You've got to spend some serious cash to get LED lights that are even worth having. Cheap LEDs do not have useful output.
I want to use them for off road lights... I think I found the answer. LED 20" light bar made in china! for 200. Cheaper than Rigid and I will be able see a deer before I wack it!
