Sweet! I want to do my 8in diff! I have an extra housing to play with but I need a dummy third so Idon't go to far!

Very nice. My Dana 60 in the rear is shaved and it actually has 1/2 an inch more clearence than the stock rear end had.

Looks pretty nice. Guess you have to use a pump to remove the gear oil now since you eliminated the drain plug.

wow i never knew the diff cover was that thin of metal, looks like u could cut it with shears

You remove one of the lower studs and most of the oil will drain out.

Actually, I replaced one of the lower studs with a bolt. It makes for a slow drain but it works.
Looks pretty nice. Guess you have to use a pump to remove the gear oil now since you eliminated the drain plug.

I haven't measured it but I guess it to be around the metric equivalent to 12GA(0.105) thick.

i grew up in Traverse City MI a bit south of the bridge. you know if theres much wheelin in the keewenaw yet? I know theres a lot of sand east of there and the west is alot more rocky but dont know of anything.

Try replacing another one for faster drainage, either another bottom one or try one top one to eliminate the anti-syphon going on inside.
