View Full Version : Got My Motor Today!

Well, on my lunch "appointment" I went home and helped the guy unload the motor out of his tractor/trailer. Everythings looks to be there, there are a bunch of wires I don't know what they go to, right now, so I'll have to try to find a wiring diagram from Howell since that's what kind of harness it has on it. But, I can't freaking wait to get this thing in the truck and hear it run for the first time, of course, with no exhaust on it!
But, if anyone happens to have a wiring diagram for a 4.3 Vortec that would be helpful and I bet I can find one on the net with enough poking around.
I should be able to figure out more about it when I get it up on the engine stand this weekend.
If anyone has electrical "skills" and wants to offer a hand in wiring the thing up so it will run, please let me know and I will make it worth your time via food and beer!
Well, this post really didn't say much, but I'm too excited not to tell everyone! Now it's almost time to MASH MY MOTOR!

I can let you hear what a 22R with open headers sounds like on Sat....lol.
That wiring diagram should be easy to find however......
I'll trade you motors straight up right now...Come on lets make a deal....you wont have to worry about a wiring diagram.....what you say.

It's tempting, believe me, but I already bought the motor mounts for the V6, so I guess I'm stuck with it! Yeah, if your truck is not torn down I would love to go for a ride in it on Sat. AM but I know you said you were installing lockers so it might not be in a position to move then, but I'll hit you up for a ride along sometime soon!

I'm just messing with you. I am very interested in seeing the differnce first hand that a 4.3 makes compared to a mildly built 22R.
I'm starting sometime sat morn. not sure. Going hunting in the early morning and I might start tomorrow night or after I come back. so if I get lazy tomorrow night or the wife makes me ....or I should say lets me.... take her out then it will be driveable when you get there.

Marhsall,
I'm going to be getting outta class around 10, if your still going to be over there I'll help out. The lady friend said something about going to a Haunted House, but I don't know if I'm gonna be home in time to go, I think they're leaving before I get back...either way I'll give you a call.
Chris.
