Man just got off the phone with PSC. I sent in my steering box almost 4 weeks ago, with a promised 3 day turn around. Then they were supposed to send it back with their pump and res.
So for an additional $95 they have shipped the box to me to get to me because I need it for the run tommorrow. Then I get over billed in error, which has already been deducted.

AJ is a great guy and so is Bent-up, but for my situation, when i requested a steering shaft it took several weeks to get a reply, then the shaft was ordered through borgeson, which the shipment was also delayed. But to get the shaft to me in time, near 2 months later, I had to pay additional shipping charges, even though it still didnt arrive when promised and after it was important to have.

This is only recently, and I have numerous other delays that caused various amounts of dilemma. Its not easy having such a vast project on your daily driver.

As with any project there are always delays, but in this competitive market, how come the vendors are not stepping up to cover their mistakes? I work in a customer service environment and we eat charges everday. I understand that some companies are not full-on corporations, but they should accept the responsibility to meet their customer's requests, even if it means waiving partial or all shipping charges. Maybe with enough mistakes there will be less mistakes simply because they cant afford it, i know i cant.

This post isn't to hammer the companies, but to merely express my dilemmas experienced, and maybe others have similarities that these companies can read about and hopefully act on.

Thank you Bent-up for the monster steering shaft-money is on its way, and hopefully my PSC steering box, steering pump and reservior will be waiting to be installed when I get home, otherwise it will just be another frequent disappointment.

Ok now im off.. :soapbox:

Damn, Lyle that sucks. Maybe they don't like you outside of SoCal. You'll have to get all of your stuff through Jason from now on. LOL

Are you kidding me! HELL THE FK YEAH! Ive been waiting for this weekend since being deployed. I missed last years since my truck wasnt operable. I dont care if I have a little drip and whine problem with my steering... im gonna be there, no front locker or winch. Its all on the garage floor, but who cares, im gonna be in JV.

Pulled the all nighter, just waiting for the baby to wake up to finish pounding in the ujoints and tossing wood in the bed before hitting the stores for last minute items. I am going to be up there early, so dont be taking your time.

If my truck is parked and you dont see me, im sleeping in the tent... just honk and wake me up.

I would have but he didnt have anything set up for what i needed, and ive heard nothing but good things from AJ and PSC.

I got the kit in and started to preassemble and disassemble the current unit, when I realized that I will need a shorter belt with the underdrive pulley. Vato Zone wasnt open at 1am. Its soo nice and shiney! It would be helpful this weekend but Ill survive.

You not coming down south i take it.. arent you norcal boys going to moab sometime soon?

We just got back from Moab about four weeks ago. I had a great time out there too. The sheet metal carnage beast finally caught up with me. I had getting by with a pass on significant body damage for years but those days are over now. Out there they call it Body Snatcher. I still havent decided how good of a job to do on it, like as not it'll just happen again.
I am planning to come down for the Death Valley trip. I think Mike is too.

I know it sucks to wait for stuff, I hate when my customers have to wait for product! but were in the same boat for allot of stuff.

I have wait on everything from bolt hardware (doing that right now) too metal tube! In a perfect world everything would be on time and we would never forget to order parts on time. Feed back is how we try to improve systems! This is yet anther reason why we sometimes have to charge more for products, to get that good customer service and reliable delievery time we need to hire people to do that!

before I started doing this I thought it was simple, get an order, make a part, send it out. But there are so many steps inbetween A-Z I now know why good companies usally charge more for a product, your not just paying for the product but for the service in which you get it! I'm not saying we havn't had problems with getting parts out on time and I'm not saying we still don't have those problems but we are working on it!
I don't know why you didn't get your parts in a timely manner from those companies but I can really relate to them.

Good luck with your truck lyle, wish I could make it but I just don't think I'm up for it!

for me, I'd rather pay alittle more for the same or comparable product, knowing that if a problem arises the co will stand behind the product.
We have a lot of good sponsors here and some not so good.
