My mom isn't coming down now and Joni and Emily will be going to SC for T day. So if I get my Runner going I'll be there for Fri and Sat. I'll ask Pat if would like to go but if he does it'll more then likely be for Sat. It looks like Drew will be riding with me if I go since his truck decided to grow taller in the rear over night. Must have been all the water and mud from the last camp out.

I really want to go, if I get the Runner up and running by Fri I'll go and camp. Joni and Emily will be leaving for SC at 0500 Thur. I have Duty Driver Thur so I'm hopping that I don't have to go pick anyone new students up from the airport and I'll beable to work on the Runner all day if need be. I haven't washed it since the last run.

Sorry but me or Drew will be going. My Runner will be down for alittle while longer, rear diff gone south. Drew is going to be working with his girl's dad weekend so he get new tires for his BIG truck. It really sucks too cause I have my F350 loaded up with fire wood just for the camp out. Hope you guys have fun.

What are the minimum requirements for the pit? Is there anything around there that a stock 05 can handle? I've never been on the rocks before and I am looking forward to the opportunity. My girlfriend gets off of work on friday around 5ish. What time do you think the night run will start on fri? One other question, what would be the best way to get there from jax? Thanks in advance.

I've got a 2000 with 2.5 left running on 32" all terrains and there was only one spot I couldn't get up... It's really fun out there and VERY intimidating the first time. Just take it easy and you'll do fine as long as you have decent tires.

Mike

I have the F350 loaded (FULL) with wood that needs to be cut up but I'll bring it, if someone lets my ride shotgun. My Runner will not trail ready for alittle while do to broken ring gear teeth. Or if someone has a 4.56 3rd that I could use I'll drive it! LOL

Hey mike, As it turns out, friday night is going to be a bust anyway. The plan is now to head out early saturday morning for Alpha-pit, wheel, and then head to Oklawaha to camp sat night. I am planning on leaving JAX around 7:30am to meet Neil in middleburg. If you want to hook up with me and head out from here then that is cool or we can meet in middleburg. I live in Argyle so depending where you are at it is probably on your way anyways. Let me know. Shoot me a PM and I will give you my number. Later man.

All of you should be glad my Runner is down cause I'd take my little tire'd IFS Runner everywhere your super flexy, chevy sprung, Marlin sticker'd, NeilFab Runners can. I don't need no SAS................... RIGHT! That's crazy talk!!! SAS kicks ASS and Neil knows his shit!! He should open his own Toyota offroad shop for all us EAST COAST wheelers, it'd be like Marlin but Neil would get something other then the turtle for a mascot, hell he's already got his shops name "NeilFab".
Wait till the Jan camp and I can get some "flex shots" too. LOL

-Mike

I don't have a clue. LOL If you really want to go SAS then start researching it pirate4x4.com, marlin, and allpro and the top places to start looking. The Toyota Owner mag is doing a write up a 05 SAS, but they are going all out with it, no $$$$$ spared. Neil would be the man to talk to if you ever really want to cut up the 05. I'm sure it wouldn't be any harder then doing a SAS on any IFS truck. I think the 80s Jeep waggy D44 axle is the axle you'd use since your truck is wider then the pre Taco Toyota's.
Well this is getting OFFTOPIC. See you tomorrow. Later

Seems to me a guy putting tons of money into a GIRLY IFS lift has no room to be talking about 32" tires!!! :flipoff3: Quit spending all that green on crap and get started on the REAL stuff! With all the money you have dropped on parts and paying Neil you could have had it done already!!! :flipoff1:  Seriously, you dont need all that thousands of $$$ that your bro owes you to do it. (That will be for finishing it off after all the bugs are worked out) Just gotta be thrifty about it. For the price of your IFS lift you could have already had a front axle and over half the $$$ for hy-steer! Just my :2cents: Trucks lookin good though nonetheless. Later.

I had to pick on Drew because he called 32" tires "girly" . Honestly, I'll be jealous when I see him rolling up on 35's  .

He found a used IFS lift for cheap so he can level out his truck, sounds good to me. If Drew wants Neil to install it, even better since it will be done right.

He'll have a capable rig and he can take his time sourcing parts for a future SAS. Just my :2cents: .

Bryan, I know you didn't mean any harm in your last post, but it's very easy to take things the wrong way on the web.

That said, let's get this thread back on topic. :)

Hey guys whats up. Well, since it was really the first time wheelin the 05 on anything but sand and mud... I had a pretty good time. To be honest I was a little bit dissapointed at the amount of wheeling that we did do (I was under the impression that this would be a all day/night trip, instead of two half hour runs). By all means, I didn't want to hold anyone back, if anyone felt as if I did, I would at leasty hope that they would be man enough to step up and at least ask what my thoughts or opinions on the matter would be. I am kind of dissapointed that the night run thing didn't pan out, but I understand that shit happens. I have some pictures of the pit, and if anyone is interested hit me up and I will email them.

Yes, you are correct that I could probably have pieced together enough parts to have it done by now but, when I do the SAS I want to do it right the way I want it the first time. I plan on a Dana 44 and using the marlin kit. I'm also going to go with an ARB up front as well. Being "thrifty" can lead to unwanted things sometimes like breakage when you least expect it! The pro comp was just a temp fix to level the truck since I got monster lift from those chevy's out back. But anyway, it is going to come out pretty capable and does look alright....for now.

There wasn't enough wheeling, next time if I'm driving my Runner I'll do like Andrew did and go look for someone else to wheel with. It really sucked for him cause he drove down from St. Aug. just to wheel the pit. He was under the same impression that I was, that it was going to be an all day thing. I didn't like that we got to camp around 1530 and never left. There is some okay wheeling areas in around FR77, hell we were less then an hour the Big Scrub area which has the rail road trail. :2cents:

Does anyone know Andrew's email or cell #? I have some pics of his Taco.

I'll be put the picks on my yahoo pics page. IF anyone would like the full size pics just email and I'll send to you. I have pics of Brain, Neil, Andrew, and Mike. sjnesbitt@bellsouth.net or nezsm76@yahoo.com

Yes, There was less wheeling than any of us had planed on. For me it was mostly a shake down run to identify problems in my truck. With the separated drive shaft showing up early in the day I really did not want to chance it coming apart when I needed it most. I'm sorry if I was overly cautious with my rig. I would like to remind everyone that this is a club in which everyone's input is valued, so next time if you want to wheel more just say so. We will be organizing a day run to the pits in the near future, so we can spend a whole day there.

Until next time.

Dude that was OUT of LINE! Just think of how much cooler your Runner would be if you weren't so cheap.

COOLER?!? The only thing I could do to make it cooler (which will happen anyway) is to put lockers, dual cases, body armor and all the other goodies. (ok so thats alot) The only "cheap" thing I have done is the springs and they are just as good as any $250+ springs from the vendors. The things I am worried about most right now are working out all the bugs the PO put in the thing. PLUS, If I was single E-6 then I would do it right with all the top notch parts like Drew said. My married E-4 pay is all that I have to live off of right now. My wife is currently not working. Of course I am not making the progress I would like but I do think I am doing pretty good considering. So I that makes me broke, not cheap. There is difference. :p

PLEASE, DREW AND ALL, I DID NOT MEAN ANYTHING RUDE OR INSULTING BY ANY OF MY COMMENTS. JUST GOOD CLEAN $HIT TALKING. THATS ALL.

I wont have the chance to hit it. I am 3 years in on a 5 year contract and I plan on getting out and going back to CA when I am done in March of 08. 3 more years is not worth the severance check to me. Just gotta finish up school in time.

Ok, looks like my girlfriend and I will be there for the Saturday ride. NO camping. we'll be leaving Tampa early Sat morning, riding then leaving sat nightish. Wish we could camp, but I have to buy some equipment I can't afford right now with the new house and all. But I do wanna wheel the pit. I guess I'll meet you guys at Oklaha camp site.

I'm confused. Wasn't the campout last weekend? Or is there another one scheduled for this weekend?
