For some reason the front end is making a clanking noise almost as if something is scrubbing and a minor vibration. At first I thought it was something with the engine. Until, I put the truck into 4 hi, took a tight turn, the noise became louder, and the vibration got much worse. I can not tell if the cv's are bad, they do not have any wear or damage. The drive shaft looks just fine. I have no clue how to check the internals of the front diff. At least if the gears are screwed I can upgrade to a set of 4.88's. I am stumped and am dropping it off at the dealership in the morning. Although, I am sure they will not know how to fix it and that is why I am posting up for any suggestions. If the dealer gives me the truck back before Thursday we may get to check it out.

yeah the dealer is just going to scratch his head at it, doubtful they will want to even look at it in its current state. You never know though, they could figure it out for you, at least you will find out in a day. I think if the gears in the front diff were bad(even though i've never heard or had a bad set, i just talked a mechanic about it once) the gears would be making a really loud high pitched noise grinding noise. Hell post it on national board. I would just get under there and look very closely for any new metal; where the paint has been scratch off from rubbing or something. Maybe a bad shock. Man you got me  Keep us informed.

Ok, the dealer thinks the problem is in the cv's even though it is hard to tell what the problem is. Also, the cv’s are a lot less expensive than the gears. I have ordered a set of cv's from Advance auto and should have them by tomorrow evening. Is anyone available to help change them out over the weekend? The only problem is that I have to work until 5 pm all weekend and will be changing them out in the evening. This is all tentative if the parts come in.

cv's hmm. It could be the problem buy why would they just go bad from daily driving like that? I've got to work on a final paper this weekend, but if it becomes dire i could come help you. I believe i have all the nessary tools, and the easy trick to getting add cv's out. Its easy, just a hassle.

I found a little info on how to trouble shoot a cv problem. From the description in the link below the problem seems to be in the cv's.
