Does anyone know of a place that does good work on trans rebuilds or R&R and doesn't require the use of any lubrication to withstand the $$$? My dang L52 is getting on my nerves.

Manual transmissions are relatively easy to rebuild. But, i don't know how much the rebuild kit costs, but you might not need all of it and could only order the specific gears that are going out. But, I don't really know, just a thought.
BTW, I have my 5 speed out of my 82 just sitting around and if you want it for parts, I wouldn't want much for it. But, I don't know if it's any good. I do plan on taking the engine off of it to inspect, but I haven't had the chance yet.
Good luck!

L52s are junk swap in a W56..

Marlin is another option:

Yeah, I was thinking Marlin, but waiting 6 weeks SUX. I'm trying to keep the stock driveline for now. I'm trying to focus on getting that part finished before I go with buckets and duals w/ twin stick.

On the bright side, I may just have bad forks. All the gears are there, it just jumps out of revers after traveling back a few feet.

Is your Shifter real loose while in gear? If so you might can get by with just replacing the bushing in it ( I can't think of the technical term for it right now). Also you don't have a body lift right?

I have replaced the bushing. It's still kinda shaky while in gear, but mostly because the motor shakes so bad.

No, no body lift. Just some sort of pieced together lift (skyjacker?)

Good deal, If you can't get it going I'd take Marshall up on his offer.

Marlin has detemp springs that will keep it from jumping out of gear.

You can try Woodco in Hapeville, talk to Wayne and tell him I sent ya and he will take care of ya. Does good work from what I am told, he is puttin in my gears Fri so I'll let ya know how it comes out.

It's hard to see the fluid. I drove it from Snelleville to Dunwoody Monday night. Custom carboard indicator showed 1 drop...I had more coolant leak out that this thing. I can replace coolant easier/cheaper than a trans. Any ideas?

That doesn't look right..There should be something covering that hole like a rubber boot. Post this on Pirate and see what they say.

There is a dust boot missing on the clutch fork. Now is that coolant there or oil? If it coolant There is a water passage on the back of the motor that may be leaking.

Well, there is coolant on the ground like 6 inches futher toward the front. What comes out of the hole there is oil. I posted on PBB and got a reply of a rear main seal. Does this sound right?
