OK my front speaker is going to fail sooner or later since it took the nice mud bath.
What are your recommendations for my new ones?

buy an adapter plate and put in a nice pair of 5 1/4" components.

If you get some expensive, kick ass speakers and give them another mud bath, you'll really be pissed. I'd go with about a $100 pair of Pioneers or something.

Get the pioneers from walmart. Sound great and are cheap. Also if you wanna be real cheap, ive heard that the lightnight audio brand arent too shabby either. They arent like incredible but if your not anal they are just as good as the pioneers in some peoples opinion.

I was going for the cheaper end of the spectrum but still want a good sound. I'll look into the pioneers.

I've had a lot of Pioneer's stuff and it's always been good. I'm not much on big money stereo equipment, just like the radio to sound alright when I have to turn it up to hear over the roar of the mud tires and exhaust.

I've got Alpine 5x7s in the front and back. They sound really good, I think I paid $80 a pair. Not a bad price for alpine. They're hooked to a Crossfire vr302 Amp.. 300 watts peak 75 watts rms.
