Does a 01 tail light lens bolt onto 99 tail light housing?

yes...all you need are the longer two screws on each side for the new bubble lenses.
***for a total of 4 longer screws***

Yep - that's right - i did it to mine when I first bought my truck. Works fine, looks good, and all you need is a couple of longer screws.
