stock = simple trails you may not even have to use 4 wheel drive.I don't know for sure as I have never been to this park so I don't know what the trails are like.
moderate=more fun.trials more of a challange you will more than likely need 4x4 at some point.
last year was my first Takeover and first wheeling trip with my truck.I ran stock trails the first day just to kind of learn a little and get comfortable with my truck. Then done harded trails the next day,and had a blast.Hope that helps.

I was guestimating my time by how long it normally takes me to drive my family back home for holidays and such.
Hey! since you are in the Buckeye state, maybe we should start thinking about a caravan! I have found in the past that caravans are good ideas, especially for these long ass drives!
We can talk about it closer to Take over!
I just signed up too.

That is so far
I just saw where a buckeye boy signed up as well, and I already mentioned a convoy to him, so you are right we all need to hook up and go.
So who is going to play the role of Rubber Ducky? :lmao: (Please tell me you are old enough to catch that reference)
Basically if you need to ask this type of question…you need to run stock trails. :D
Seriously though, look at it as an experience gauge. If you have wheeled before and feel comfortable and willing to risk some damage the harder trails would be for you. But if you are new to our fine sport the stock trails are a good way to gain experience.
Hell with me SAC'd rig I might still think about running stock trails!
On second thought, I just realized how :xrainbow: that sounds so strike that last comment!

(Yeah, breaker one-nine, this here's the Rubber Duck, you got a copy on me Pigpen? C'mon.)
(Ah yeah, ten-four Pigpen, for sure, for sure. By golly it's clean clear to Flagtown. C'mon.)

I knew your old fart ass would catch the reference. so my handles were a bit rusty!
Damn are you on the rag today or what? :flipoff1:

It only takes you an hour and a half to drive from Pennsylvania to Arkansas? You must have a rocket attached to your truck.
That, and when you think the greatest movie ever made is Urban Cowboy! :kewl:
Tell me it ain't so!!!!!!!!!!!
Bah ha ha ha!
I ever tell ya, I once dated a girl that was filmed in the dance contest, and my sister went to highschool with the "rich bitch" girlfriend in that movie? she didn't really play a bitch in the movie, but according to my sister, she was a real one in life!
Look'n for love in all the wrong places…
Damn that was my "pick up song" in highschool! that and "silver wings"! I could walk up to any girl in a dance hall when either one of those songs were playing, dance with them and leave with them that night!
Oh! memories!

Are you going? A convoy sounds good to me...looks like I'll be driving through Virginia, West Virginia, then Tennesee for what looks to be most of the trip....or something like that. :D
Still too early to know who else is going from the NE, so as more sign up, we'll get the caravan planning set-up.

Have fun in them hills on 81! You can get from NVA to Knocksville comfortably in 1 day. Then spend the next day getting through the Tennesse hills. I would not try to get past Knocksvill at night if you aren't familiar.. plus the Road deer are BAD.

You might make memphis if you leave real early. Then you can wake up go to Beale street and get a good hand picked pork Bar-b-que sandwich before you complete the journey. (then you will want to stop again on the way back)
Seriously if you are big tired and undergeared I would allow more time.

Hey Zilla–mon! what hotel are you thinking about calling home during the festivities? Momma Bear is looking into making our reservation. Thought it might be interesting to be in the same hotel as all the wrenching taking place on Tacozilla!
I still remember watching the infamous "Max tapes"! in the hotel room, and then hearing you take after him in the parking lot once you saw the evidence! It was all classic!
"I got bodydamage??!?!?!?" said as only Shannon could in his High pitched East Texas drawl! But better yet.
Did you call your Arkansas "family members" from Gilmer to make sure they stay in the same hotel like they did at the TXTTORA takeover on the Gilmer trip? Unfortunately though we won't have my camp site to hide all you TTORA trouble makers from the hotel management as we did that night.

I went bout 3 weeks ago. The level 1 and 2 trails were easy on my rig only went on one level 3. It wasnt bad but, had two very steep short hills that were rutted out and yes you can ride a 4wheeler there only on the marked quad trails

If you stay on the 1s and 2s no need for them
I only did one level 3 trail so im not sure what the rest of them are like, but I plan on goin back down again next month. I got spacers up front and an add a leaf with some 31s and had no real problems. I plan on a 3in body lift and some 33s by then, I got some homemade sliders to bolt on and some bumper work for my winch. I dont think you will need sliders if you stay on the 1,2, level trails as for the level 3 and 4 I cant say

Weee!!!! Barb & I are so looking forward to this.... awesome wheeling, great scenery and meeting old & new friends... This is gonna be the Takeover we'll be talking about for a long time!
I hope everyone starts making plans now, I know I have :D
I'm planning on flying in for this one...too long a drive and I have to be back to work right after...
so, what airport do I fly into?
lodging...camp or motel? If camping, does anyone have some extra gear that I can borrow? I can bring a bag and basic stuff but full camping gear is kind of out of the picture. where will all the action be?...at the campground or elsewhere?

:p What a great time in Hot Springs this past weekend...the trails there are going to be fun for every level of wheeler. I want to be sure to watch the extreme guys play in the rock garden!
Even the level "2" trails can be a challenge. Just ask Lindsey...Brad had to winch him up the loose gravel part of one of the "2" level trails...that was work!
Well, for the winch that is. :p

i guess no one knows.......
It is normally an on-going process on obtaining sponsorship for Take Over,
You can normally count on Toyota, Sterling McCall toyota as well as TRD and ARB (well maybe not ARB)
Also look at the club sponsors list, they normally throw some additional "bones" our way for Take Over.
If you go expecting something specific, you will probably be disappointed. But if you go without any, you should be amazed! I know I was the first time I went!
Just bring plenty of cash for the raffles, it is normally worth it!

i guess no one knows.......
The list of TO sponsors will be up soon.
I say keep it quiet until the last few days before take over, keep everyone in the dark and then everyone will have some nice surprizes.
but then what good would it do for the sponsors right? LOL

Hey Chris,
Barb told me something interesting the other day when i was on the phone with her…something about you two and no take over this year for you. any honesty to that? Or did you just forget to tell her of your plans for this years schedule of runs? LOL
I know I try to keep my wife in the dark until the last minute so I know I am going without much fuss. But Barb likes to wheel, so what's up?

Everybody sounds sooo exciting anyways that would be 15 hours for me, Hmmmm let think about it....Its a 50/50 Cuz I would be the only one from MN. plus the wife nags about me spend money on the truck to much haha.
Well you could definitely join the "midwest caravan" and travel down with us.
We have two groups that are going to be joining up just south of St Louis. You are more than welcome to join us to help pass the highway miles!
We have guys joining in from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Missouri. as well as Kansas if I remember right.
Take over should be off the charts this year with all the great raffle/door prizes as well as the banquest and festivities at the theme park!
My wife and kids are going so just bring the wife along as well…make it into a vacation. Just a vacation you spend with your TTORA family.

I'm looking for someone that lives close to Little Rock AR or St. Louis MO that I could possibly bug for a major favor... I'm competing in WE-Rock this year and have a comp in Jellico, TN the weekend prior to Takeover. I'm coming out to attend Takeover, but afterwards I'd like to fly home from somewhere not too far from there and leave my rig out there until August 10th - 13th as the next competition is going to be 1.5 hours north of St. Louis, MO. It does not make sense for me to drive out to TO and then back to Georgia and then 2 weeks later go back out there... pretty sure you guys understand that with gas prices the way they are today. Any assistance from someone in the area would be much appreciated.
