Ok, should I get a rack system for my Cap and add a light bar onto it, or get this one, I think it could solve my CB mounting problems and add a light bar all in one. It folds down for extra clerence etc. Does anyone have experence with this brand "Deluxe Rota Bar from CARR" the link is here http://accessory-center.com/prod.plx/30/1557/2279?f1=TOYOTA&f4=1998&f2=Tacoma
its $117 for the bar, and add $24 for the gutterless mounts. I dont think thats too bad.

and for thoes wondering, Ill probaly be going with IPF lights for it.

Thats pretty cool, Top mounted lights are way better then front mounted for fill. The design looks pretty corny to me, but I think thats a pretty good that it doesn't require drilling.

I looked at buying one awhile back, but never got around to it. With top mounted lights you will get some pretty sizable glare from your hood depending what color your truck is. Keep that in mind...

why would you need to fold it down? to get into a garage or something?

Low hanging branches etc. Most of the time the top mounted lights just get in the way in my neck of the woods.

I also looked at the rotabar by carr. I also have IPF lights. The reason I did not go with it is as follows: The bar drawings say it can hold 4 pounds, IPF lights are kinda heavy. With lights (depending on # of lights) and wind resistance I was affraid I would end up loosing the bar down the highway somewhere. I do not have a roof rack and really didn't think the gutterless mount would work very well. I ended up going with a custom made light rack/spare tire holder, I should have pics in a week or so if your interested in the design.

less wind resistance.

I can tell a huge difference when my lights are up top..I only put them on if I'm going out...Takes less then 5 minutes to bolt them on..

I'm glad someone mentioned that! Careful mounting lights like those "mouse-ears" too you can drone out peripheral vision and get tunnel vision which is no bueno when haulin ass through the desert at night

Stop 'yer whinin'... Yer lights are on the front... LOL JK...

It really depends on where they're mounted and which lights... towards the rear of the cab it's not so bad... Like Chris (wgasa) had or that pic of the red taco here... Forward on the cab can be a biatch though... Like on heeps... Had that on my cj and it sucked... gave me headaches with that glare off the hood... wasn't as bad when I changed then all to pencil beams though... My whinin' :2cents: ... LOL
