I put an OEM bug deflector on my '05 after getting way to many stone chips on the front edge of the hood, even though I am not a fan of the shields at all.
I really didn't like the way it mounted with the 5 metal clips that slid over the edge of the hood. I didn't have much faith in the rubberized pads that were to protect the hood from the clips, but what can you do. The deflector looked like it had a lift kit also.
As I prepared to trade in the '05 I was in the process of removing the shield to put on the '06, hell I paid for it, but as I was taking it off I noticed that the clips had rubbed through pads and wore the paint right off the hood in those 5 areas. So I put it back on and traded the truck in.
So I am looking for a different shield that mounts under the hood lip like most shields do. Anyone have any recommendations, and I would really like to get a clear one to paint body color so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
