I've always read this info. and changed my oil thinking put 5.7 qts of oil in the truck w/ the oil filter on. Am i wrong? I only ask this because i went to check my oil level and damn its over the full line a bit.

Dude quit being such a hypocondreact..Your truck isn't going to die if you under fill it half a liter. It will get proper lubrication with 5.7 since you are unable to get all the oil out on the engine.

yeah yeah, this is what happens when i have NOTHING to do but watch the day go by.

Hmm Ive always put 4.7 quarts in. Lately its been taking 5 qts to read 1/4" under "full" on the stick.

why don't you fill it up till it states full on the dip sitck?

I take "Full" on the dipstick like I take "max" on the brake fluid resevoir. As long as it fills close to full its good to go. You dont want to overfill.
