My sponsor thing has expired (i think) and I probably wont be renewing it anytime soon. So for those of you who have already contacted me i will still make the sliders up and will also continue to take orders, however I dont have alot of time to be at the shop now. However please support the other vendors on the board and a thank you goes out for the people who purchased items from me.

I am having all the laser cut plates that go to the frame cut with four 1/2" holes cut out, so you have the option to weld or bolt on. This will make it cheaper for the bolt on's. I can supply the bolts for an additional charge or you can pick them up.

Thanks

The difference between HREW and DOM is just the proccess in which it is made, DOM is stronger and is better suited for applications that have to have close tollerences. DOM starts out as pretty much the same thing as HREW but is drawn over mandrel. for the normal weekend warrior the HREW should be fine, it will dent easier but is much more cost effective, since DOM is about 3-4x more per foot. here is some reading material, the different steel types and processes are listed about half way down on the page. http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/PR-BV60/index1a.html

no web site yet, my web server at home needs some work done to it and i havent had time to mess with it, the sliders come bare metal, im not sure where a local powder coating company is and how much it would be either.

Looks great, gotta start saving money for these, I like what you guys have said about his product.

What kind of bolts are preferably used in mounting these sliders zac w/ prices/installation?

Drilling involved I assume?

Thanks

zszac111
02-21-2006, 08:04 PM
yep, each mounting plate has 4 1/2" holes, and without a body lift a right angled drill will be needed. all sliders come this way and you can weld them or bolt them on, if you want something different or extra for the bolt on's just let me know and we can work something out.

Aleco911
02-21-2006, 09:49 PM
so do you use self tapping or can you drill through the frame and put a nut on the other side?

zszac111
02-22-2006, 05:19 AM
i would drill straight throught the frame and put a nut on the back side, i can also send a backing plate that is 1/4" thick with the same bolt pattern, if you rip those off the trick then there is a problem, since thats 1/2" worth of steel for the sliders + the frame thickness. it would just be 15 extra bucks for the plates and probably a few extra bucks on shipping.

Hey what do you recommend to coat your sliders??

I mean I could just go with rustoleum professional, I used this for just about everything while putting the lift on. Great flat black finish...

But would you recommend to get them lined with something or even powdercoated??

I painted mine w/rustoleum "textured". I've had tons of people ask if they are powdercoated but it's just rattle can. It holds up real well too.

have you heard of rust coming through paint before, one of my buddies was tellin me its not smart to just spraypaint bare metal hoping it holds especially on sliders. I was thinkin i would just do this but idk, want some more opinions.

KSTacoma,
YOurs look sweet by the way, I remember I asked you how you put an aftermarket exhaust on your reg. cab. a while back havent been able to do this. I might just paint it black, not sure though.

I just sanded mine down a bit, primered them and put lots of coats on. I've done this on my bumpers, doors, and sliders and not had issues with rust coming through the paint. Then again, I didn't paint over rust, if you do that it will come through. It'd suck to pay for powdercoat for something you are going to drag on rocks imo.

i have the ability to have them laser cut and access to a press break, so theoreticlly i can make them. I would have to sit down and figure up material cost, laser cutting time, and time on the press break and I dont have time to sit down, look at tv, my GF (which i dont like) or anything else at this moment. I didnt think the buisness would pick up so quickly. If i get time this week I will draw something up rough and send it to my laser cutting guy and get a quote on material plus laser time and go from there.

im working on it :D I just have to get back to the shop. I hurt my foot out there the other day thowing a temper tantrum (hole saw pissed me off so i took it off, put it on the ground, got the biggest sledge hammer i could find and beat it in to submission, however in the mean time it decided to bounce and hit my foot at about 100mph which hurt like hell) so no more beating POS hole saws :D so ive been taking it easy. but will return today for revenage with the plasma cutter :flamethro and make some other stuff and hopefully finish a cage.

Sorry to hear. Here's hoping I don't piss you off on the trail. Any chance you have an internal cage in the works for an x-cab 01-04. I really like the one that FROR has advertised but don't want to pay a grand plus shipping. I know it's an investment in my protection and if I can't find one a little bit cheaper than I am gonna go with their's. I've heard they still haven't fixed the rear mount issues since it lines right up with the rear body mount. Thanks and I look forward to some pic's of the tube doors. What are you guys doing about all the wiring when removing doors? I was hoping to find some quick disco's for all of my wiring (speakers, mirror, window, lock) but I haven't been lucky enough yet.

ive shipped a set out for an 05 access cab, but had some fitment issues, (i had to take some quick measurements at the dealership and got ran off) however that is corrected now. Im not sure if i can get it in a cold rolled or not or how much it would be, but i can check if you want.

sooner or later the AL pres is going to bring his truck down for an interior cage, but im not sure when that will be or when I will have the time. I just started a new contract and it has me teaching in the evenings 8-11pm and more than likely 9am-3pm on some weeks as well. So 15-17 hour days arnt looking to pretty as of now  as far as the wiring, you just unplug it from behind the kick plate and all comes out with the doors.

Yeah I'm definitely interested. My last Tacoma didn't have them and I regretted it. Just shoot me the prices whenever you get a chance and I'll make a desicion from there (the accesories are really adding up quickly :o ). As I understand it, and certainly correct me if I'm wrong, the CREW should be between the HREW and the DOM in strength and still less expensive than the DOM. Again, I could be wrong but that's what I gathered from reading your link. Thanks

I have decided to start making some stuff on the side such as sliders, bumpers. ect.. to give me something to do. I know there are tons of quality guys out there making stuff up, but here is another option :D the basic double round slider set up will look like the pic below, however sliders can be made with to any customerís request, including material, shape, extra protection, laser cut center sections with any design you want. I can draw it up with the Bendtech Pro software to meet your needs. All sliders will come completely welded with plates to be welded or bolted to the frame, along with gussets. all plates will be laser cut for the cleanest look. Below are the base prices for an ext cab slider

190.00 round HREW .120 wall/11g, weld onís OR bolt on's
270.00 round DOM .120 wall, weld onís OR bolt on's

EDIT-- I am having all the laser cut plates that go to the frame cut with four 1/2" holes cut out, so you have the option to weld or bolt on.

For the bolt on sliders I can supply the bolts for an additional charge or you can pick them up.

Ok guys, i have finally gotten the check from the insurance company for the welder and plasma that got stolen. I should have a new welder and plasma sometime next week and will be taking orders on sliders again. The prices should remain the same but I have not bought any tubing in a while, so their may be a chance the sliders will go up just a tad, but i doubt it will be more than 5 bucks or so. Im going to also make some front and rear bumpers that should be priced right. Please email me with any request at mior4x4@gmail.com and I will get back with you ASAP.

I don't really know yet. I really want to build a trail rig instead of this truck but I would definitely be interested in a set of sliders that could effectively be used as a step (or maybe even some that had a bolt on step that could be easily removed).

There has been a ton of interest from 05+ tacomas for a Bumper styled similar to the All-Pro and Demello FJ cruiser bumpers. I personally like the extra angle on the all pro bumper.

HREW bolt ons with back plates for a 98 xtra cab to 14607 or 04294 (whichever is cheapest if you could). Can you jack the vehicle from the sliders and what is the tube diam? Thanks. (I have a 2" body lift as well)
