Was just browsing through Toyota's new Full Line Catalog and it has some nice pics of the FJ. I have been waiting to see a list of the available PIO/DIO (port or dealer installed Options) and noticed the caption to one of the pics.
"FJ Cruiser shown in Voodoo Blue with available roof rack and rock rails"
You can see them in the pics in the brochure. Seems like the design could be a bit better. You can see that the mudguards hang wider and a little lower than the slider. However it gives me hope to see some truely usable options for this truck!

There's a great article about the FJC in the latest (3rd) issue of 4wdtoyotaowner magazine... According to the article: Bill Bourke and Joe (can't think of his last name) -- a Toyota Test Driver (or something like that) took the FJC out on the Rubicon and the sliders performed very well.
Also, it was mentioned that 60 some-odd aftermarket companies showed up for a 'measuring session' and a ton of aftermarket parts are expected. (Think ARB bumpers, suspension components, etc.)

When there is that much positive and a complete lack of negative I get skeptical. I think you really have to see them in person or read feedback from the masses to be sure.

I agree, 100%. I did not mean to imply that the article is *gospel*, just that it had info about fjc, accessories and stuff. While I do like the idea of the fjc, like you, I'd have to see it up close, in person and hear a ton of positive non/less-biased feedback before I'd even considered dumping my dcab for it.

In terms of the sliders, all parties agreed they did very well, and that's not just a bj for Toyota. They were in fact specifically designed for their duties and held up to the thrashing. The FJC did run the entire Rubicon after all. Many thought it never could. That alone says a lot for it, but it did have great support, drivers and spotters, much more than any average driver.

From what they said just the paint off the bottom of the Sliders. I saw an advertisement for some new 2.5" hoes for the thing already

From what I understand, front suspension is next to identical to the tacoma. The truck will be out in 45 days. We will all be able to see it soon!
