After thinking the problem was in the front end and spending around $1600 to change the gears, new cv's, new front wheel bearings, and adding a locker for my troubles. The problem ended up being the carrier bearing on the rear drive shaft. The drive angle did not look bad to me, but I am not a pro at this yet. Patrick at 4x4 Customs saw the problem and we spaced it 3/4" until we could get a replacement bearing and the noise almost went away. After we installed the new bearing and spaced the carrier bearing 1 1/2" the problem does not exist anymore.

I would recommend anyone who has a 4" lift and above that has not spaced their carrier bearing to do so. It will greatly improve the life of your bearing.

I have also learned that you can not trust what you hear from the truck. I thought the noise was coming from the front and it ended up in the rear.

We used some pipe (the type that comes with new shocks when you need to use a smaller bolt) that was 1 1/2" long, longer bolts, and a few washers. I'll get you a pic.

Awesome homie, I too noticed after playing on the wall at Fians Ford last weekend I have bent my carrier bearing as well. What is up with us and our D-cabs man!! For the past month we have had the same problems at the same time!! Oh well at least they're fixed now!
