Hey, Im looking for pics of people who have cut thier stock wheel openings to accomodate bigger tires. Jon at All Pro cut the body on the white taco and it looks sick. Just looking for more Ideas before the sawsall and cut off wheel comes out to play.

Specifically interested in Double Cabs.

Front needs to be tubbed to match, but those 33x12.5s on 10 inch-wide wheels actually tuck into the bed.

Right on! I pulled my flares and the liners and am getting ready to cut the front and back. There will be alot of steel gone when Im done with the bed. Ill be tubbing my front wheel wells too, and hopefully stuffing 35s.:) Looks good though,

With the tubbing of the firewall this summer I hope to maybe stuff in some beadlocked 34x10.50 LTBs. Either that or wider tires :D

Thank you for the compliment! Your truck is very nicely built!

JMO.. Go for wider. Obviously you are not afraid to cut and a little goes a long way. A 33 x 12.5 would fit great with those cut panels and a tubbed firewall. Hell, you could probably stuff 35s if you wanted to.

Got 12.50s; maybe go to 14.50s? :D

Taller would mean more ground clearance, though, which is something I can use more of.

thats exactly why I want 35s :) Personally 12.5 is wide enough on our trucks.. its really all about the height. I just dont like a lot of lift.. my junk feels tippy anyway.. sooo.. I cut instead. Ill post pics when Im done cutting. New bumpers get here next week.. Im so stoked!

That looks pretty damn good kirk. I was wondering.. How flimsy do you think the fenders would be if the rear hole was cut higher following the line of the flare? There is a support from the bed to the fender that supplies some rigidity to the fender. Im thinking if I cut it at the fender I could reweld the support to the new fender height. Any thoughts?

BTW.. thats one bad ass yota!

One of the supports on each side was cut off when my bed was done and now the bedside where the TTORA decal is located is somewhat flimsy and flaps in the wind going down the road. I've been told that after enough flapping it will just break off. :dunno: I'm guessing I better have a stick of steel rod welded between the bedside and the inner bed for support.

It would be VERY flimsy if you follow the line of holes in the bed, mine only has about 1.5 inches of the fold over metal left in the wheel well in top dead center of the wheel well. I would not suggest cutting that high unless you immediately brace it somehow, and only if you know how to weld really thin sheetmetal WELL.

37's, ZERO rub anywhere, tires stuff front and rear with lots of clearance, BUT I have a 2 in body lift AND I went with Alcans in the front with the center pin 2 inches forward instead of 1 inch like ranchos.

Mine flapped too, in pic one of the driver side of the cab you can see a black/brown-ish spot right at the new fender line, just past top dead center where it ripped, I had a friend try to weld it back together, but it looks like that now. I have since done some hillbilly engineering and have JB welded a wall screw with a hoop to the inside of the fender, and then I wire tied it with some tension to a spot under the truck so it won't flap. Works so far.

Yeah, I'm gonna work on that here pretty soon. Have other things to do first, but that's always the case.

Thanks for the tips man. Ive talked to a steel fab shop in town and they are going to reweld the support after I cut and add a little to the high clearanced rear quarters. The welder there says hes done tons of thin sheet metal welding. I figured better to have someone with more experience on the thin stuff do it. Thanks again.

Cool, just beware about having to paint after the paint cooks from him welding behind it.
