when i wrote toyotek to find out about their 3" lifts i asked them about the front diff. drop and this is what they told me about their lift:
"The TAC3-05-AL is one of the best selling kits we have. The Alcan add-a-leafs for the rear are the best fit, and ride from anything we have seen. This kit will work great with your stock brake lines, and shocks. We do have diff drop kits as an option, they are not needed, and most of our kits are sold without them. We determined in our testing the diff drop kit can cause a low speed vibration, and the axle angles without any diff drop kit are not a problem.
We designed these kits for the 05-06 models in September of 2005, they were installed on 6 trucks before we started selling them towards the end of 2005. At that time no one else had them for sale yet. We designed them around our 95-04 Spacers, which we believe out perform any other spacer lift out there. I am not 100% familiar with the Revtek spacers for the 05s, or what their kit uses. I know their older Tacoma kits use a cast spacer that rides metal on metal on top the spring.
We chose to use the stock rubber isolator, so you get a noise free perfect fit. We also use a ½” top plate spacer , and a smaller in the coil spacer for the best ride possible. The ride will be slightly stiffer, but much better than the older Tacoma’s were. If you have any other questions ASK!"
does revtek have the same vibration issues???
